Early career and Education
Grimes attended Desert Pines High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, for his high school education. He had 13.6 points, 9.3 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 1.4 assists a game as a junior.
Grimes transferred to Quality Education Academy in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for his senior year.
He chose Fresno State over offers from Boise State, Iowa, San Francisco, Utah State, Washington State, and Wichita State to play college basketball in September 2014.
Professional career
Nate Grimes earned his first professional contract with Kobrat of the Korisliiga on September 24, 2020. He scored 16.7 points per game, grabbed 12.6 rebounds, and dished out 1.7 assists.
Grimes joined with the BNXT League’s Kangoeroes Basket Mechelen on June 30, 2021.
In eight games, he averaged 18 points, 11.9 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 1.0 blocks.
