Saskatchewan has an independent foreign policy now, and its first delegation has visited India

Saskatchewan sent a delegation to India: The Liberal government of Canada headed by PM Justin Trudeau is approaching its dead end amid dwindling approval ratings for both the PM and the party. Trudeau’s dictatorship has taken a heavy toll upon Canada’s unity. The federal government has made it a point to harass every conservative province using RCMP and other federal tools.

Such policies of Justin Trudeau have frustrated the people of the provinces with conservative governments. But it looks like Saskatchewan has already had enough of it. For example, the administration of Saskatchewan has now taken it upon itself to mend Canada’s debilitated ties with India.

Recently, the provincial government of Saskatchewan sent a delegation of officials to the Indian state of Punjab to boost trade and investments.

Chief Minister of India’s Punjab met with the high-level delegation comprising Saskatchewan Ministry of Trade and Export Development’s ADM, International Engagement minister Richelle Bourgoin, Saskatchewan India office MD Victor Lee, Consul General of Canada in Chandigarh Patrick Hebert, and Vice President of Research at the University of Saskatchewan, Baljit Singh.

He reportedly encouraged the delegation to motivate local entrepreneurs to invest in Punjab and also endeavoured to push famous local brands into Canada. You see, an Indian top state minister holding talks with the leaders of a conservative province of Canada does send a powerful message.

Analysts observe that the meeting serves a great purpose for the conservatives in Canada. The Liberal party runs a minority government with the support of the NDP, which supports the anti-India Khalistani movement. The movement run by Khalistani extremists in Canada fancies to carve out Khalistani Punjab from the Indian Union.

The Khalistani movement is basically a campaign to undermine India’s sovereignty.

The Trudeau administration is supporting the agenda wholeheartedly. So, the Liberals are supporting anti-India campaigns just to keep the Jagmeet-led NDP in good humour and maintain the stability of their government.

New Delhi has asked Ottawa to cooperate on many occasions but to no avail. As a result, the Indian government recently asked its nationals in Canada to “exercise due caution and remain vigilant” against the backdrop of what it said was a “sharp increase” in hate crimes, sectarian violence and anti-India activities.

So, at a time when Trudeau is hell-bent on destroying Indo-Canadian ties, leaders of Saskatchewan Province have posed a direct challenge to the authority of the Liberals through this visit. This could be taken as a pressure tactic to force the Liberals into initiating a crackdown on the Khalistani terrorists within Canada.

Now, if the Liberals, under pressure from Khalistani-supporter NDP, fail to act against the Khalistanis, the Conservatives from Saskatchewan will stand to gain the most from the whole scenario.

The ruling party from the Saskatchewan province is reportedly known to support Pierre Poilievre’s Conservative Party at the federal level.

Various polls suggest the definite rise of the Conservative party as a majority party in the next federal elections.

By visiting and solidifying ties with India, the Saskatchewan administration has essentially established Poilievre’s intent to forge friendly ties with India when he comes to power.

Trudeau’s refusal to cooperate with the opposition both at the federal and provincial levels has irked leaders who have now started taking things into their own hands. Moreover, the Liberal’s constant attempts at influencing the politics of conservative strongholds have made matters worse. Well, the damage is now done and Liberals are set to collapse like a house of cards.
