Titwala Ganpati Mandir – Guide 

Titwala Ganpati Mandir is a very famous and mythological Ganesh temple in the small town of Titwaka Kalyan, Maharashtra, where devotees come to fulfill their wishes and have darshan of Lord Ganapati.

Every year thousands of devotees get the opportunity to worship Lord Ganapati at Titwala Ganesh Temple. Titwala Ganesh Temple is also known as Maha Ganesh Temple. If you look at the background of this temple, then this temple seems to be an architecture built in the 11th century.

History of this Temple

Titwala Ganpati Mandir was established by sage Kanva. It is said that King Dushyant and Goddess Shakuntala got married here after a long disagreement. It is believed that the idol of Titwala Ganesha disappeared at the time of making the pond there or it got drowned in water.

It is also said that during the rule of Madhav Rao, to solve the water problem of the people there, he had got a tank built, during that tank he found the idol of Ganesha buried here. Immediately after that the renovation work of the temple was started. Initially, the temple here was made of small wood like an assembly hall, which was not in good condition. Then in 1965-66 the temple was renovated at the same place.

Titwala Ganpati Mandir Timings: The doors of the temple remain open for darshan – from 5:00 am to 13:00 pm and then the doors of the temple remain closed for darshan – from 13:00 to 14:00 PM. Aarti done from 14:00 to 14:30 PM. Again the doors of the temple open for darshan from 14:30 PM to 18:00 PM.

Vaishno Devi Temple is a famous temple in Thane. This temple is built close to Titwala railway station. You can come to visit this temple. This temple is situated at a distance of 10 or 15 minutes from Titwala Railway Station. By reaching here you get to see a cave. This cave is man made. Vaishno Devi can be seen inside this cave. Many people come here during Navratri.

Birla Mandir

Birla Mandir is a major temple of Thane. This temple is built near Shahad station in Thane. This temple is mainly dedicated to Lord Vitthal and Rukmani. It feels good to come here and find peace. Here you will also get to see Lord Shri Ram ji. This temple is very big and very beautiful.

Ambernath Temple is a major religious place in Thane city. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is ancient. This temple has been built in the 10th century. The local people know it by the name of Purana Pagoda. This temple is built on the banks of the Valdhuni river. This temple is 2 km away from Ambernath Railway Station. This temple is very beautiful. The walls of the temple have very beautiful carvings, which look very attractive.

By Air- Mumbai airport is 75 km away from Titwala. From here you can easily reach Titwala Ganpati Mandir by using local transport services or taxi.

By Train- Titwala and Kalyan are the nearest railway stations from Titwala Ganpati Mandir. From here you can easily reach this temple by using local transport services or taxi.

By Road- Titwala is around 15 km away from Kalyan. Buses, Auto-rickshaws, and private vehicles are available to reach the temple. You can also easily reach this temple by using your own vehicle or by any public buses or taxi from any part of the country.
