Human Freedom Index: Justin Trudeau’s dictatorial proclivities are well-known around the world. Canada has become more divided as a result of Trudeau’s plunge into authoritarianism. Every Canadian should be concerned about Trudeau’s assured takeover of Canada’s government through submission.
He had the opportunity to achieve historical greatness as a leader, but he chose the wrong path – totalitarian control, ethical lapses, dirty underground deals, kinship enrichments, pandemic lockdown malfeasance, freedom violations, unrestrained spending, unregulated borders, massive tax increases, and hard-nosed narcissistic rule – to do so.
His actions have brought a collective shame to the entire Canadian populace. Today, Canada is no longer in the top-10 list of freest countries in the world, according to a new report.
Canada fell six rankings, and was overtaken by nations such as Sweden, Finland, and the Netherlands on the annual “Human Freedom Index” released Thursday morning by Canadian think-tank the Fraser Institute. Their previous update that looked at Canada came out in 2021.
The report is based on measurements in 12 different areas, including: security and safety, rule of law, freedom of movement, association and assembly, and expression and information.
The metric that declined the most in Canada, according to the report, was freedom of movement. The metric declined by more than 33% between 2019 and 2020.
Canada had the steepest year-over-year decline in total freedom among its peers, the report said. The peer group of the freest 15 jurisdictions in the world did not have a single country that increased its freedom in 2020.
Human Freedom Index scores countries by measuring the absence of coercive constraint, according to its publisher.
This is a significant setback for Canada’s long-standing democratic traditions. Unfortunately, Trudeau’s totalitarian tactics have been backed up by the paid Canadian mainstream media (MSM) that he provides with more than a billion dollars from taxpayer’s money each year.
MSM maliciously disregards: federal govt infringements of assured rights and freedoms; scaremongering to prevent free people from speaking out; arrests, fines, and confinement of more peaceful protestors in Canada than in Communist China; and police charges against individuals for exercising their right to free speech.
Mainstream media’s patch-work
The mainstream media overlooked the suffering of hundreds of thousands of Canadians from all walks of life who had their families, incomes, careers, homes, companies, hopes and dreams crushed and endured hardship as a result of Trudeau’s transgression in forcibly terminating their democratic rights.
MSM failed to report on residents’ wrecked lives, hefty fines, mocking, and imprisonment; draconian police state control, COVID-19 jail forced detentions, and citizens who were too afraid to peacefully and legitimately challenge the government.
MSM overlooked Trudeau’s ethics infractions and the passage of laws that stripped parents of the authority to regulate their own children; Trudeau’s secret search into Canadians’ bank accounts.

Handshakes and peaceful protest are now forbidden in Trudeau’s Canada. His avowed predilection and actions reflect his violent intent to control Canadians.
These are the kinds of fundamental human liberties that classical liberal theorists like John Stuart Mill, John Locke, and Adam Smith would have advocated. In a liberal democratic society, beloved principles such as limited government and individual rights and liberties must always take precedence. Anything less than these fundamental human rights would have been considered authoritarian or tyrannical in character.
Mr. Trudeau may be a Liberal by political affiliation, but he is clearly not a classical liberal in his political thought. He is an opponent of freedom, liberty, and democracy.
An increasing proportion of Canadians are fed up with Justin Trudeau. They anticipated him to be a modern liberal who opposes authoritarian leadership, values people’s rights, and feels they deserve to live regular, productive lives again. But Trudeau has done the polar opposite. His unjust dictatorship has caused significant divisiveness and harm to Canadian unity and that is what he will be remembered for.
