Geeta Mandir Mathura – Guide 

Geeta Mandir is a Hindu temple located in the Mathura district of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. This temple is also known as Birla Mandir. This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This temple was built by Seth Jugal Kishore Birla who was the owner of the Birla Group. Geeta Mandir and Birla Mandir have been built by Birla Group in many states in India. This temple is one of them. Important verses and teachings of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita have been written on the walls of this temple.

History of this Temple

Geeta Mandir of Mathura was built by Seth Jugal Kishore Birla in 1946 in memory of his parents. Jugal Kishore Birla belonged to the prestigious Birla family. And he was a renowned philanthropist and proponent of Hindu philosophy. Geeta Mandir Mathura is built in the traditional Hindu style of temple architecture.

Red sandstone has been widely used to build the temple and other structures in the complex. A white marble idol of Lord Krishna adorns the main sanctum. And the walls are covered with colourful paintings depicting various incidents from the life of Lord Krishna.
