Ram Mandir Bhubaneswar – Guide
The Ram Mandir is one of the most famous temples of the ‘City of Temples of India’ – Bhubaneswar. It has beautiful images of Lord Rama, his wife Goddess Sita and his brother Lord Lakshmana. This temple is a modern structure; However, people talk about its architecture in the same way as the architecture of some other ancient temples in the city. One of the important aspects of this temple is its huge towers which are visible from different parts of the city.
History of this Temple
Ram Mandir Bhubaneswar has been constructed by a private trust which still maintains it. Apart from the main deities, idols of other Hindu deities such as Lord Shiva and Lord Hanuman are also placed in the temple. Several festivals including Ram Navami, Janmashtami, Shivratri, Dussehra, Pana Sankranti and Vivah Panchami are celebrated with great pomp and the temple is beautifully decorated on these occasions. An annual fair is organized every year at the temple, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

Ananta Vasudeva Temple, which was built in the 13th century, is dedicated to Lord Ananta Vasudeva. The temple has idols of Lord Krishna, Goddess Subhadra and Lord Balarama.
Raja Rani Temple
Believed to be dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Raja Rani Temple in Bhubaneswar is an 11th century temple. The temple is called Raja Rani as it is made of yellow and red sandstone.
Mukteshwar Temple
The 35 feet high Mukteshwar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It was built in the 10th century, and is famous for its architecture due to which it is considered as the ‘Gem of Odisha’.
