Bhojpur Mandir is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Bholenath located in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh state. Bhojpur Temple is also known as Bhojeshwar Temple and Somnath of the East. Bhojpur is famous all over the world for its attractive structure and the stories and mysteries associated with it. A tale about Bhojpur Mandir of Raisen that this temple is incomplete today and its construction work has not been completed. More than 7 feet high Shivling of Lord Shiva is established in Bhojpur temple. This Shivling of Lord Shiva is the world’s largest Shivling made of a single stone.

History of this Temple

The history of Bhojpur Mandir of Raisen takes us back to 1055 BC. The credit for the construction of the Bhojpur temple goes to King Bhoj of the Parmar dynasty who got the temple constructed during the 11th century. The construction of Bhojpur temple is still incomplete, due to some unknown reasons, the work of this temple was left midway. It is believed that this temple was to be built in one night but it could not happen.
