First Trudeau, now NDP’s Jagmeet Singh Prostrates before China

Trudeau has started using his lackeys to achieve the objective of wooing the Chinese community

David Eby China trip

David Eby China trip: Because of his and his party’s incompetence Trudeau is aware that native Canadians won’t be supporting him in the upcoming elections. This is precisely why he travelled to China and adored Chinese dictator Xi Jinping, so he can woo the Chinese community. However, it seems like Trudeau’s visit wasn’t sufficient. So now, he is using his lackeys to accomplish the same objective.

According to local Chinese-language media in Canada, the premier of British Columbia, David Eby 尹大卫, is going to visit China to strengthen the province’s trade relations with China. Eby’s China trip plan received great acclamations from the Chinese Canadian community when he met them at the new year dinner party

But Premier Eby didn’t mention whether he would visit Taiwan, as mentioning Taiwan could have hurt the sentiments of nationalist Chinese voters in Canada.

Interestingly, Eby’s China trade mission plan is not disclosed to the English media or hasn’t attracted enough interest to produce a news story. In a piece published on the Business in Vancouver (BIV) website the author said “China won’t actually be a destination for the premier.”

Instead, another piece on BIV claimed that Eby’s Asia trip would be an opportunity for B.C.’s diversification away from the U.S. and China in favour of growing new markets. No other English media reported on David Eby China trip.

Perhaps, there’s an attempt to downplay the trip’s significance as siding with a country like China could hurt the government both domestically and internationally. But what explains these trips to China even at the expense of antagonising citizens and international allies?

You see, in the recently concluded federal election, the Conservatives’ strong rhetoric against the Communist regime in China costed them votes among the Chinese-Canadian community, and may have helped the Liberals return to power.

In contrast to the Tories, the Liberals and the NDP said very little about China in their campaign platforms or on the stump. And there was some polling suggesting that the strategy may have paid off.

According to an analysis conducted by Ian Young, the Vancouver correspondent for the South China Morning Post, and Edmonton-based Karamveer Lalh, a former political staffer for the United Conservative Party of Alberta and the Conservative Party of Canada, it is pretty clear that the Tories lost vote share to the Liberals in the Chinese-Canadian community in a fairly big way.

Trudeau is well aware of this. This is the reason he has been so quiet about criticising China.. This should be considered while analysing the visit of Jagmeet Singh’s New Democratic Party, as well. But if Trudeau and Jagmeet believe they can win elections by relying entirely on Chinese voters, they are both the greatest fools alive. One cannot win an election relying entirely on the immigrant community. Trudeau has devastated the majority of the people of Canada. The upcoming elections would thus deliver a severe reality check to Trudeau.
