Jeen Mata Mandir Sikar – Guide

The Mandir of Jeen Mata is situated in the Aravalli hills, in Sikar district, 115 km from Jaipur in Rajasthan. Jeen Mata is the incarnation of Maa Durga. Jeen Mata Mandir is known as Shakti Peeth and the real name was Jayantimala. The holy temple of Jeen Mata is believed to be a thousand years old. Its full name was Jayanti Mata.

History of this Temple

The Jeen Mata Mandir Sikar was constructed around 1200 years ago. The temple of Jeen Mataji was a place of pilgrimage from early times and was repaired and rebuilt several times.

It is believed that a king in Dhabu village of Churu district fell in love with an Apsara and married her on the condition that he would not come to her place without her knowledge. The king got a son Harsha and a daughter Jina. Both the children practiced extreme penance and attained status as incarnations of Harsha Bhairon and daughter Jina as incarnation of Durga. Jeen Mata is also known as Mahishasura Mardini Durga with eight arms.

Jeen Mata Mandir Sikar opens at 4:00 AM in the morning and close at 10:00 PM in the evening. Daily aarti performed at 7:10 AM in the morning and evening aarti performed at 7:25 PM in the evening.

Laxmangarh Fort

The Laxmangarh Fort located in Sikar is very famous and historical. This fort was built by Raja Laxman Singh of Sikar. This fort is situated only 30 km away from Sikar.

Deogarh Palace

Deogarh fort or palace also comes in the beautiful places in Sikar, which is built at an altitude of about 2100 feet above sea level.

Khatushyamji Temple

Khatu Shyam Ji, Khatu is a small village 65 km away from Sikar. Built of white stones, it is a popular temple dedicated to Lord Shyam.

Harshnath Temple

Harshnath Temple is located at a distance of about 14 km from Sikar, which was built in the 18th century. Also, this temple is also famous for keeping the relics of the Shiva temple.

By Road- Roads to this temple are well connected with the other cities of the country so you can easily reach this temple by using your own vehicle or by any public buses or taxi from any part of the country.
