Shri Narsimha Jharna Mandir – Guide

Bidar Lakshmi Narasimha Swami Temple also known as Shri Narsimha Jharna Mandir is one of the bold temples of Lord Narasimha Swami situated in Manichula Hill of Bidar. Narasimha Swami is one of the carvings of Lord Vishnu incarnate. In this incarnation, he appears as Hiranyakashipu, half-lion and half-human, who is the son of Brahma sage king sage Kashyapa, who had a boon from Brahma that no human and no animal could kill him. Therefore, Lord Vishnu carved in the form of Narasimha Swami to kill him.

History of this Temple

Lord Narasimha Swami comes out of the pillars to save Prahlad from Hiranyakashika. Shri Narsimha Jharna Mandir is considered to be an adventure because uniquely there is water all around to reach this temple. Lord Narasimha Swami is in a cave which is full of water at the end of the cave we can see the idol of Lord Narasimha Swami and devotees will walk in 4-5 feet of water to have darshan of Narasimha Swami. Only 8 or 9 people are allowed at a time. Devotees need to walk in the water to get the blessings of the Lord.
