Gola Gokarna Nath Temple also known as Gole ka Mandir is a Hindu temple located in the Lakhimpur district of t Uttar Pradesh. The Gola Gokarna Nath Temple is completely dedicated to Lord Shiva. Gola Gokaran Nath is also known as Chhoti Kashi. It should be said that this Shiva temple is famous by the name of Chhoti Kashi. The Lingam at Gola Gokaran Nath Temple is a site of great importance for the devotees of Lord Shiva.
History of this Temple
People believe that Lord Shiva was pleased with the penance of Ravana and gave him a boon. Ravana requested Lord Shiva to accompany him to Lanka and live there forever. Lord Shiva agreed to go on the condition that he should not be kept anywhere on the way to Lanka. On the prayer of the deity, Lord Ganesha assumed the form of a cowherd and met Ravana on the way. Ravana gave the Shivling to Ganesha because of his suspicion. Lord Ganesha placed the Shivling on the ground.
Ravana, enraged that he had failed to take the Shiva-linga back to Lanka, pressed it against his head with his thumb. Ravana’s thumb impression is still present on the Shivling. Because of that the Shivling became like a cow’s ear and mounted about 5 feet below the ground level, hence the name Gokarna.

Dudhwa National Park

Frog Temple
On the way from Lakhimpur to Sitapur, at a distance of 12 km from Lakhimpur, there is a one-of-a-kind Frog Temple in Oyal town. It is the only one of its kind in India, and is based on the “Manduk Tantra”. It was built between 1860 and 1870 by the former ruler of OL State.
