Samod Balaji Mandir – Guide

Samod Veer Hanumanji Temple also known as Samod Balaji Mandir is considered to be one of the major religious places of Rajasthan, where the idol of Lord Hanuman is installed. A 6 feet statue of Lord Hanuman is installed in Samod Balaji Mandir and there is also a unique temple of Lord Shri Ram. This old temple is situated on Samod mountain in village Nangal Bharda of Chaumu tehsil.

History of Samod Balaji Mandir

Samod Balaji Mandir was built by Sitaramji, Veer Hanuman Trust Samod. The story behind the construction of this Hanuman temple is very unique. It is believed that Hanumanji himself had expressed his desire through Akashvani to be established here. Thousands of years ago Saint Nagandas and his disciple Laldas came here to do penance on Samod mountain. It is believed that one day during the penance Saint Nagnadas heard the Akashvani that I will appear here in the form of Veer Hanuman.

At the same time, he also saw Hanuman in person on the rock of the hill. After the darshan of Akashvani and Hanumanji, Saint Nagnadas got engrossed in worshiping Hanuman. It is believed that the rock on which he got the darshan of Hanumanji, he started shaping the idol of Hanumanji. Later the temple was built at that place.
