Shree Krishna Mandir Udupi – Guide
Shree Krishna Mandir, located in Udupi, Karnataka, known as Mathura of South India, is known as a major pilgrimage site in South India. It is told about the construction of this Krishna temple in Udupi, that it was founded by Vaishnava Jagadguru and Shri Madhavacharya.
History of this Temple
There is a story related to the Shree Krishna Mandir of Udupi, which tells that once upon a time there used to be an ardent devotee of Shri Krishna, who was not allowed to enter this temple. Then he went behind this temple and started doing severe penance and prayer to Lord Shri Krishna, then Shri Krishna gave his darshan to those devotees and turned the head of the statue installed in this temple to the side where his beloved devotee was sitting and doing his penance. Since then till today the head of the idol installed in this temple is towards the wall and there is a window for its darshan.

Shree Krishna Mandir Udupi opens at 5:00 AM in the morning and close at 9:00 PM in the evening. Morning aarti is performed at 7:00 AM in the morning and evening aarti performed at 8:00 PM in the evening.
