Parshuram Mandir is located in Chiplun area of Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. It is located at Parshuram Ghat which is near Chiplun town. Shrikshetra is also known as Parshuram. Parashurama is the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is said that the idols of the temple were made about 300 years ago. Lord Parashurama created the land of Konkan and hence he is revered by many people in the Konkan region. Parshuram Temple is situated at an altitude of 150 meters above sea level.

History of this Temple

Parshuram Mandir Ratnagiri was built by Swami Paramhans Brahmendra. There are mainly 3 temples and a water tank here. Apart from this, there is also a water tank with old ruins and steps on old rocks. Also a deep palace was also built to light a lamp or lamp like a Christmas tree.

The main temple is Parasurama, and in addition there are Renukadevi and Swami Brahmendra temples. Along with this there is also a temple of the local deity of the village people with a small pond. Most of the traditional houses in Konkan are made of large blocks of laterite red clay.

Jaigarh Lighthouse

This famous Jaigarh Lighthouse of Ratnagiri was built in 1931. This light house is made of 100% cast iron. It was built during the British rule. Therefore its structure matches European objects art.

Thibau point

This is an ancient place. If seen from the point of view of history, earlier it used to be a princely state. The view of Ratnagiri is very beautiful from here. Tourists can see an amazing view of sunrise and sunset here.

Ratnadurg Fort

Ratandurg Fort often attracts history and art lovers. This 600 year old fort was built around the 16th century. It is situated at a distance of 5 kms from Ratnagiri district.
