Anandeshwar Mandir is the main temple of Hindus which is completely dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is located in Parmat, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. The Anandeshwar temple is situated on the banks of the Ganges. Small and big temples of all the deities are established here. Like Goddess Annapurna, Kali Mata, Kaal Bhairav, Lord Ganesha and Karthik. Anandeshwar Temple is built on several acres of land and this temple was built in the 18th century. Lord Bhole Nath is seated in the form of Shivling in this temple.

History of this Temple

It is believed that Karna used to come to worship daily at this place during the Mahabharata period. When Karna used to come to perform his puja, during the puja a cow named Anandi used to add all her milk at this place. The owner of the cow felt very strange by this type of behavior of the cow.

The owner of the cow gathered the villagers and excavated this place, then the villagers found a Shivling inside the land, which is still installed in the temple. The villagers thought that the Shiva Linga should be installed at a good place. But even after exerting full force the Shivling did not move from its place. So after losing all the villages established the temple of Lord Shiva at that place and the name of the temple was named Anandeshwar on the basis of the name of the cow, which is still famous by the same name.
