Chintaman Ganesh Mandir is located in Sehore. Sehore is 37 km south-west of the state capital Bhopal and on the Bhopal-Indore highway. The temple is of great importance and is said to be 2000 years old. There are four Chintamani Siddha Ganesha temples idols in India, one of which is in Sehore. A lot of devotees come here throughout the year, especially during Ganesh Chaturthi.

History of this Temple

Sehore Ganesh Mandir is about 2000 years old. It dates back to the time of Vikramaditya of Ujjain and was renovated by Bajirao I Maratha Peshwa. Chintamani Ganesha Temple has four idols, one of them is in Rathambore, second in Avantika, third in Siddhpur and fourth in Sehore. It is said that Lord Ganesha likes sweets a lot. And his favorite is Modak, he always liked it. People still bow before him to impress him, give modaks and laddoos as prasad.
