Siddhivinayak Mandir is a Ganapati temple dedicated to Lord Shri Ganesha. This temple is located at a place named Prabhadevi in the city of Mumbai in the state of Maharashtra. This temple of Lord Shri Ganesh is a famous temple of Hindus. Shri Siddhivinayak Maharaj is popularly known as Navasacha Ganapati or Navasala Pavanara Ganapati among the devotees.

History of this Temple

Prabhadevi Siddhivinayak Mandir was built in the year 1801 AD by a person named Laxman Vithu. The construction of this temple was funded by a rich, childless woman named Deubai Patil in the belief that Lord Ganesha would fulfill the wishes of other women who have not yet had a child. The ancient temple was a small structure. In which there was a black stone idol of Shri Siddhivinayak, which was two and a half feet wide. The biggest feature of Lord Shri Siddhivinayak is the bending of the trunk towards the right.

Prabhadevi Siddhivinayak Mandir Timings

Prabhadevi Siddhivinayak Mandir opens at 5:30 am on all days, and closes after the last aarti at 9:50 pm. On Tuesdays the temple opens at 3:15 am and closes at around 12 midnight.

Mahalaxmi Temple

The distance of famous Mahalaxmi temple situated in Mumbai is 6 km from Siddhivinayak temple. Mahalakshmi, the presiding deity of this temple, is worshiped as a form of Goddess Shakti or Adi Parashakti. The temple was built in the year 1785 AD. Here the Mother is depicted in her three forms – Mahakali, Mahalakshmi and Mahasaraswati.

Shri Radha Rasbihari Ji Mandir 

This temple complex is situated near Juhu beach. The main deities of the temple are Shri Gaura-Nitai, Shri Radha Rasbihari, Sita – Ram, Lakshmana and Hanuman ji. The architecture of the temple is very beautiful and magnificent.

This temple dedicated to Lord Shree Swaminarayan is located in the Bhuleshwar area of Mumbai. The history of this temple is about 100 years old. The temple follows the Swaminarayan sect.

Jogeshwari Caves

The cave temples of Jogeshwari in the city of Mumbai are dedicated to both Hinduism and Buddhism. The history of these caves dates back to around 550 AD. This cave is used as a temple by the local people.
