Pavagadh Mahakali Mandir – Guide

Pavagadh Mahakali Mandir is a Hindu temple located on the summit of Pavagadh hill in Panchmahal district, Gujarat state of India. Kalika Mata Temple is a Hindu goddess temple and pilgrimage centre. The temple is situated on a hill, hence the stairs lead up to the temple. Ropeway has also been constructed due to which it has become easy to reach the temple.

History of this Temple

Pavagadh Mahakali Mandir was established at this place during about 10th or 11th century. This temple is the oldest temple in this area. The name of this temple comes in the Shaktipeeths of Mother or it can be said  that this temple is a Shaktipeeth. Three idols are installed in the temple. Kali Mata is on the right and Bahucharmata on the left and the idol of Kalika Mata is installed in the centre.

Pavagadh Mahakali Mandir opens at 05:00 am in the morning and close at 07:00 pm in the evening. Morning Aarti is performed at 05:00 am in the morning and evening aarti is performed at 06:30 pm in the evening.
