Tadkeshwar Mahadev Temple – Guide

Tadkeshwar Mahadev Temple is located in Abrama village in the Valsad district of South Gujarat. It is not possible to build a peak on this temple of Shiva, so the sun’s rays directly anoint the Shivling.

History of this Temple

Historians says that Tadkeshwar Mahadev Temple is about 800 years old. In 1994, the temple was renovated and a 20-feet open spire was built in a circular shape. It is mentioned about this 800-year-old supernatural temple that a cowherd found that every day his cow separated from the herd and went to a dense forest. Standing in the place, the stream of milk flows on its own.

The cowherd returned to Abrama village and told the villagers about her white cow’s self-consecration at a sacred place in the dense forest. When the Shiva devotee villagers went there and saw that a holy rock was sitting in the womb of the holy place. Then Shiva devotee started Shila Abhishek and worship every day by going to the dense forest.
