Shitla Mata Mandir Kathgodam – Guide

The Mandir of Shitla Mata is situated at a place named Kathgodam on Nainital road, about seven kilometers away from Haldwani. The temple is built on the top of a hill. This temple of Sheetla Mata is very ancient, beautiful and associated with many beliefs. Along with Sheetla Mata Temple, there are also another temples in the temple premises and idols of other deities, which makes the temple more attractive.

History of this Temple

History of Shitla Mata Mandir Kathgodam associated with many years ago. At a place named Bhimtal which is situated in Nainital, the pandits of that place were going to Banaras and from there they bringing the idol of Sheetla Mata from to Bhimtal to installed in their village. As they reached Ranibagh place in Kathgodam it was too late night so that they decided to take rest in Ranibagh’s Gulab Ghati. In next morning they decided to took that idol towards their village. But they could not able to move the idol, then they decided to install that idol at that place. After that the idol was installed at the place which is named after Sheetla Devi Mata in Kathgodam.

Shitla Mata Mandir Kathgodam Timings

Shitla Mata Mandir Kathgodam opens at 6:00 AM in the morning and close at 8:00 PM in the evening. Morning aarti is performed at 7:30 AM in the morning and evening aarti is performed at 6:00 PM in the evening.
