Koradi Mata Mandir – Guide
One of the most popular temples in Nagpur is the Koradi Mata Mandir, which is located about 15 km from the city. Shri Mahalakshmi Jagadamba Temple at Koradi, Nagpur is dedicated to Maa Jagadamba, a form of Maa Durga. There is importance of a Shakti Peeth in this temple. The idol of Jagdamba Mata is enshrined in this temple, which is a self-manifested idol.
Here the devotees get the four components of a good life, namely – Artha, Dharma, Kama and Moksha. Statue present in this temple change their appearance three times in a day in which she is looking like a teen girl in the morning, young lady in the afternoon and an old lady in the evening.
History of this Temple
There are about 51 Shaktipeeths of Goddess Jagdamba. Koradi Mata Mandir – Sri Mahalakshmi Jagadamba is considered one of the Shaktipeeths. In the previous era, Koradi was known as Jakhapur. Raja Jholan, the king of Jakhapur, had seven children and they all are son. The king was sad because he had no daughter.
They performed Yagya, Poojas, penance and pleased the deities and requested them to bless them with a daughter. After that a daughter of divine beauty was born. After seeing his daughter for the first time, the king felt that Adi Shakti had appeared in the form of his daughter. The king of Jholan had various experiences of the divine power that was born as his daughter.
Koradi Mata Mandir Timings
Koradi Mata Mandir opens at 5:00 AM in the morning and close at 9:00 PM in the evening. Morning aarti is performed at 6:30 AM in the morning and evening aarti is performed at 8:00 PM in the evening.
