Guwahati Maa Kamakhya Devi Temple Story – Guide

Maa Kamakhya or Kameshwari is called the goddess of desire. The temple of Maa Kamakhya Devi is located at a distance of eight kilometers from Guwahati, the capital of Assam. Maa Kamakhya Devalaya is considered to be the holiest and oldest of the 51 Shaktipeeths on earth.

It is the centrepiece of the Tantric Shaktism cult widely practiced in India. It is believed that this temple is more famous because of the Rajaswala of the Goddess. Blood is released from the vagina made in the form of a rock in the temple, which is the main reason for the popularity of this temple.
