Mayadevi Temple is located in the holy city of Haridwar, Uttarakhand. Which is counted in 52 Shaktipeeths and Panchatirth places of India. This temple of Haridwar dedicated to Goddess Maya in the form of Mata Sati is a famous religious centre. Maya Devi, located in the holy city of Haridwar, finds mention in Hindu Puran. Three idols of the goddess are installed in this temple, in the middle the idol with four arms and one mouth is of Maya Devi. There is an idol of Kali Devi on the left and Kamakhya Devi on the right. Maya Devi Temple is one of the three Shakti Peeths of Haridwar.

History of this Temple

Mayadevi Temple Haridwar, available since 11th century, is counted as a Siddha Peeth. It is believed that the wishes of all the devotees are fulfilled in this Siddha Peeth temple of Maya Devi. There are three Siddha Peeth temples established in Haridwar, one of which is dedicated to Maya Devi Devi.

The second is dedicated to Mansa Devi. And the third one is dedicated to Maa Chandi Devi. During any special festival like Navratra and Kumbh Mela of Haridwar, there is a huge crowd of devotees here. Today where there is a temple of Maya Devi, at this place Sati’s navel and heart had fallen. That is why this temple is counted among 52 Shakti Peethas or Siddha Peethas.

Haridwar Mayadevi Temple opens from 6:00 AM to 12:00 Noon in the morning and from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the evening. Morning aarti is performed at 7:00 AM in the morning and evening aarti is performed at 7:00 PM in the evening.

Mansa Devi Mandir

The temple of Mansa Devi, daughter of Kashyap Rishi, is only 5 km from Haridwar main city. It is situated on the top of a high mountain at a distance of 10 km, which is considered as one of the 51 Shaktipeeths of Mata Shati.

Shantikunj Ashram is the only ashram in Haridwar, where people are provided free food, drink and accommodation amidst a calm and natural environment.

Saptarishi Ashram

Saptarishi Ashram is situated at a distance of about 5 kilometers from Har Ki Pauri. It is one of the most famous ashrams of Haridwar.

Bharat Mata Mandir

Bharat Mata Temple located in Haridwar was inaugurated in 1983 by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The Bharat Mata Temple located in Haridwar is 8 storeyed and 180 feet high.
