History of Tehri Kunjapuri Temple

According to History and Puranas Tehri Kunjapuri Temple was established by Jagadguru Shankaracharya. This temple was renovated from 01-Oct-1979 to 25-Feb-1980 and in the year 1982, Pujya Shri Sachababa had highlighted the importance of this place by performing rituals.  The hand of Mata Sati Devi had fallen at this place, which is also known as Kunj, hence this temple is known as Kunjapuri. The surprising thing is that there is no idol of the goddess installed in the sanctum sanctorum of this temple.
