While the US is celebrating Trump’s victory today, the mood is all gloomy in Ukraine. It’s the end of the world for Zelensky! Throughout the election campaign, Zelensky put all of his eggs in Democratic basket and didn’t even shy away from blasting the GOP nominee and his running mate JD Vance.

Guess what, Vance and Trump are going to drive the US’s foreign policy now and most of the people in Ukraine have already accepted defeat.

A Trump victory now has Kyiv worried because it fears he might cut US military support for Ukraine and put pressure on NATO allies to do the same. If Trump stops helping, it would leave Ukraine—and other Eastern European countries like Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia—feeling more vulnerable to Russian threats.

Trump has claimed he could quickly “make peace” between Ukraine and Russia, but Ukraine calls this agenda “oversimplified and unrealistic”.

Trump knows one thing: Peace can’t be achieved until concessions are made. His approach might involve pushing Ukraine to give up some of its land to Russia or to stop trying to join NATO. This could weaken Ukraine’s position. Some of Trump’s advisors have even suggested creating “autonomous zones” on the border and keeping Ukraine out of NATO altogether.

But that’s a red line for Zelensky! But, Trump won’t care about his red lines, he would care about American taxpayers, he would care about American soldiers, he would care about American economy and that’s why, Zelensky desperately wanted him to lose the elections.

Yes, last month, Trump in a veiled threat for Zelensky, said he wanted Trump to lose and Kamala Harris to win. “He wants them to win this election so badly but I would do differently – I will work out peace,” these were Trump’s words.

Trump may sound very harsh sometimes, but that’s the language that Zelensky understands. Trump knows Zelensky holds no respect for the US, its people and its president. Instead, he just treats America as an ATM machine.

For instance, Zelensky blasted Trump last month saying his “feeling is that Trump doesn’t really know how to stop the war even if he might think he knows how”. Zelensky also insulted Trump’s running mate JD Vance by calling him “too radical.”

He must be regretting those words today. Zelensky likely fell for fake news media who claimed Trump’s victory chance are really scant.

Post Trump’s victory, Zelensky wrote, “We are interested in developing mutually beneficial political and economic cooperation that will benefit both of our nations.” The clown really thinks that Trump would see Ukraine, a war-torn nation literally surviving on US aid, as a reliable economic partner.

The same is the case with Europe by the way. The entire EU bloc is worried Trump may now undo their sanctions on Russia, or at least render them ineffective. Trump is also anti-NATO, meaning US will now stop splurging money on EU’s security. Dear EU, it’s high time to pull up your socks and be serious about your own security. Trump has given you a golden chance to become independent.

Trump talks business and he has vowed to impose 100% to 200% tariffs on EU imports if the bloc refuses to offer wider market access to the US.

So, the EU is faced with tough choices: Will it save itself or will it rescue Ukraine? Of course, EU would scramble to sustain its economy first, meaning Zelensky and company are going to see the most painful days of their lives in coming months.
