A dictator without elections. Trump had used this phrase to describe Zelenskyy. But there is one more such dictator: who continues to rule the European Union without any election, without any checks and balances, and still has the audacity to lecture the world on democracy. Yes, we are talking about EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. Her stance on all key issues goes against common sense, the will of the people and the interests of Europe. On climate, she is a green activist, refusing to acknowledge EU’s security needs. On Ukraine, she is a Russia hater, even though her stance impedes the peace process. She also continues to threaten US businesses with fines, tariffs and taxes.
All in all, she is as toxic as one could get. And if reports are to be believed, she is now facing a massive dissent by her own officers in Brussels.
Swiss Magazine Die Weltwoche has reported that high-ranking EU officials are increasingly aware of the toxic nature of Ursula. They believe if she is thrown out of the office, many processes could be “unblocked”. What it means? Ursula is deliberately sitting over lots of files and processes that can actually help the Europeans, who are by the way facing increasing poverty, inflation and stagnation of economy.
The magazine also highlighted key issues where Brussels officers are not happy with Ursula.
Number one is: Trade tensions with US. The US is largest trading partner of EU nations. When Trump announced tariffs in April in response to high EU duties, Ursula responded by issuing severe threats. The EU commission president declared she would tax American big tech if talks with Trump fail. She vowed to punish Google, Amazon and Meta without addressing USA’s biggest concern: High import duty on US exports.
Not just that, Ursula has also led a campaign to malign USA’s reputation around the world, saying Washington was no longer a trustworthy friend and EU needs new partners and friends.
Officers in Brussels believe this stance will only harm EU’s own interests.
The second issue is regarding the Russia-Ukraine war. Ursula has vowed to not to lift any sanctions from Russia until Crimea and other regions now controlled by Russia are given back to Ukraine. Despite the fact that a lot of EU businesses now want to shift back to Russian oil and cheap gas, Ursula continues to peddle the agenda of phasing out Russian energy by the end of this year. And let alone lifting sanctions, the dimwit lady is in fact preparing to impose even more sanctions on Russia. Ursula recently met with Zelenskyy, and discussed targeting key sections of the Russian economy, including nuclear and checmical industries, IT and shadow tanker fleet.
Now, this can be seen as an attempt to derail Trump’s peace efforts with Russia. While Moscow is pressing EU and the West for relief on sanctions, Ursula is doing the opposite, to further antagonize Russia, prolong the war and ruin all peace efforts.
That’s why even the Trump team has boycotted Ursula. Trump has not met her even once. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has also canceled two meetings with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas.
The Trump also knows that Ursula is evil, corrupt and a driven by self-interests. For instance, allegations regarding her Pfizergate scandal showed her alleged shady, side dealings with Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla. There are allegations Ursula may have had struck side deals over the supply of 1.8 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines worth €35 billion.
Later, when a court ordered Ursula to submit her chat with the Pfizer CEO, she conveniently said, “Oh, they have been accidentally removed” from my phone.
Ursula is the real dictator without elections, who enjoys complete immunity for her criminal actions. Officers in Brussels have now realized Europe can’t actually progress and move past the crises until Ursula is dragged out of office and her hatred for US and Russia is exposed.
