There are as many creation myths about snakes as there are religions and cultures, and as many interpretations to the meaning of the serpent as there are stars in the sky.
Christianity denounces Snakes as Evil and Satanic, the symbolism of snakes in Hindu religion is highly complicated, they are both evil and upright. The relationship of snakes with other major religions of the world is also quite complicated. Snakes are peaceful by nature, but they can be extremely destructive if provoked. Snakes species exhibit wide variability in body shape. Some species are chunky, stocky, and heavy-bodied for their length. Other species are usually slender for their length. While body shapes are often generalizable for a given species, some snakes also exhibit some distinct features. So are there any Snakes With Beards or its just mythic folklore?
Snakes with beards is a bizarre but constant feature which is found throughout cultures and periods. Biologically speaking snakes have no body hair or fur, and hence they can’t grow a beard, yet the images of bearded snakes keep coming. Ancient Greeks and Romans used to draw murals of bearded snakes which were supposed to ward off evil spirits and act as the guardians of the household.
With the advent of internet and penetration of smartphones, snakes with beards seems to be making comeback through memes and troll pictures. But as previously noted, snakes don’t have beard. They belong to the reptilian class and till date no snakes with beards have been found and the chances of them being found is quite slim. Unless you’re planning to grow a beard with a snake like tail, you can reject this theory.
