Justin Trudeau interferes in India’s internal affairs, tries to appease Khalistani elements again

Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada has once again let out his liberal fangs as he tries to cash-in on the pious occasion of Gurpuruab to woo the Sikh community by playing the emotional card all whilst trying to besmirch the Indian government. In an online interaction with Canadians from the Sikh community, the Canadian PM without knowing the complete details of the story tried to paint a picture that Punjabis and their lives were in danger and projected himself as the ‘good samaritan’ that farmers of India could count on for support.

“I would be remiss if I didn’t start by recognising the news coming from India about the protest by farmers. The situation is concerning. We are all very worried about family and friends.” said Trudeau whilst adding that Canada always stood for peaceful protests and would continue to “defend” the rights of peaceful protesters in India.

“The violence perpetrated by the Indian govt against farmers peacefully protesting is appalling. I stand in solidarity w/ the farmers from Punjab and across India – and, I call on the Indian govt to engage in peaceful dialogue rather than violence” said an ill-informed Trudeau.

Even the opposition parties were quick to denounce Trudeau for his statements and trying to interfere in India’s internal disputes. Shiv Sena deputy leader Priyanka Chaturvedi took to Twitter to lash at Trudeau by pointing out that the farmers’ protest is India’s internal matter.

Trudeau’s out of the blue statements should not come as a surprise to anybody. With Khalistan angle repeatedly surfacing in the ‘Farmers Protest’, it was only a matter of time that Trudeau and his liberal party issued their ill-informed statements, miles away from reality.

Trudeau has historically not shied away from pandering to Khalistani sympathizers and extremists and has provided a safe haven in Canada to anti-India elements. As such, India’s approach viz. Canada has been simple: There cannot be a meaningful bilateral relationship with a country from whose soil secessionist activities are being orchestrated against India

Justin Trudeau and his liberal party in 2019 elections managed to win 157 seats, down 20 seats from the last elections, in a 338 seat House of Commons. However, a desperate Trudeau took the support of Jagmeet Singh’s New Democratic Party (NDP) and its 24 MP’s. It is imperative to understand that Jagmeet Singh is a hardliner Khalistan supporter and has openly supported the secessionist movement to carve out a separate country for Sikhs in Punjab.

Interestingly, Trudeau’s statements come a day after Jagmeet Singh tweeted a similar statement on his account and called out the Indian government for its ‘alleged’ mistreatment of the farmers. It seems as if it was Jagmeet who pushed the buttons of Trudeau and programmed him to issue a statement that, most certainly, is not going to invite any positive response from New Delhi.

Trudeau has had a knack of supporting Khalistani elements. In his first tenure, Trudeau had 4 Sikh ministers and one of them was Infrastructure Minister Amarjeet Sohi who was arrested in Bihar in 1988 on charges of being a pro-Khalistani supporter. Apart from this, there was a media report about Innovation Minister Navdeep Bains that his relatives were questioned by the police in the case of Air India flight bombing in 1985. Also, Sajjan Singh, who was the Defense Minister of Canada, has been accused by Captain Amarinder Singh of being a ‘staunch supporter of Khalistan’.

In 2017, Justin Trudeau even took part in the Khalsa Day Parade where Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, who was killed in Operation Blue Star was portrayed as a hero.

Earlier this year, it looked like Trudeau had finally learned his lesson when his government had explicitly stated that it will not entertain or accept the results of the Referendum 2020 conducted by Sikhs for Justice—a joke of a terror organization funded by Pakistan.

However, Trudeau’s recent statements prove it was a momentary breakthrough and that he has now relapsed to his old, manic self which supports Khalistan wholeheartedly. A spineless Trudeau is looking to appease the Khalistan supporters and therefore don’t be fooled that he is standing with the farmers or for their cause. The farmers are merely a tool for him and his Liberal Party and its Khalistani allies to manifest the dreams of a separate country that seeks to divide India and incite bloodshed.
