The departure of Donald Trump from the White House was a celebratory moment for the entire CCP politburo as it had finally got rid of a leader who had become its nemesis for the major part of the last 4 years. However, China’s euphoria hasn’t lasted long as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stepped in to fill the shoes of Trump and inflict serious damage to Xi’s inflated sense of ego.
According to media reports, India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has permanently banned TikTok, WeChat, and a total of 59 other Chinese apps from the country. Like any fair regime, the Indian government gave the aforementioned Chinese apps a chance to explain their position on compliance with privacy and security requirements. But not satisfied by their mumble-jumble, CCP vetted scripts, the Modi government brought the sledgehammer for one last time.
Hu Xijin, the Editor-in-Chief of CCP mouthpiece Global Times had a good, hearty venting session on Twitter where he unloaded his frustration on the Indian government’s decision.
He tweeted, “India is like a bandit in the world that advocates civilized trade. These Chinese apps have been legally registered in India. Their market shares now are barbarically robbed by New Delhi. India only has a layman’s understanding of the international rules.”

Xijin calling India a bandit is a bit rich because mainland China is one of the few countries that has banned Google, Facebook, Twitter, and even YouTube. Thus, Xijin doesn’t really have the moral high ground to make such hollow complaints.
Reported by TFI, the ministry’s June order stated that the apps were “prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order”. While one of India’s notorious neighbours has already tasted ‘Surgical strikes’ on a couple of occasions, the Modi government’s ‘Digital surgical strike’ has hurt the Chinese business interests in a way that no country has ever.

While Trump tried his level best to ban TikTok and We Chat, the roadblocks installed by the pro-China Democrats proved too much of a hassle for him to go through with the directive. However, Prime Minister Modi has been resolute and unflinching in his decision-making and its implementation.
Apart from tearing apart the Chinese business, India has engaged the wussies of the PLA on the Eastern Ladakh border in the frigid, sub-zero conditions for over 8-9 months now. And despite the Chinese forces routinely trying to coerce their way sheepishly into the Indian borders, the alert Indian Army is inflicting heavy damage to the Chinese side (Read: Naku La, Sikkim).
Reported by TFI, during his last days in office, Donald Trump passed the Tibetan Policy and Support Act or TPSA of 2020. The TPSA makes it official that decisions regarding the incarnation of the Dalai Lama are the exclusive domain of the current Dalai Lama, the Tibetan spiritual leaders, and the Tibetan people. India is expected to continue its line of supporting and providing shelter to Dalai Lama, much to the chagrin of Xi Jinping.
And thus the work started by Trump will be lead to fruition by the Modi administration. India already considers the entire Line of Actual Control as the de facto Indo-Tibetan border. The events have been set in motion and it would not be hyperbole to predict that the Government of India might take some more concerted efforts to corner China in absence of a strong leader like Trump. Time has come and Prime Minister Modi is stepping up his game in the Indian subcontinent.
