The Democrats had vowed to convict Trump, to bar him from holding office again, they failed stupendously. Now that they have no idea how to get to him, they’ve begun a witch hunt, and have targeted not just him but his family and aides too.
Since leaving office, the case against Donald Trump to produce his financial records has gained traction. An effort by Trump’s lawyers to block Cyrus Vance, the Manhattan District Attorney (DA) in New York, from imposing a subpoena to access his personal and corporate tax records for eight years was dismissed by the Supreme Court on Monday.
The DA said very little about why he needs Trump’s documents, but last year, in a court filing, prosecutors said they were justified in finding them because of media allegations of “probably substantial and protracted illegal activity at the Trump Organization,” thought to include bank, tax and insurance fraud, Trump’s family business empire.
If prosecuted and convicted of any wrongdoing Trump can face a prison sentence. Thereby, he would not be able to ‘hold office’ again. That’s certainly what the Democrats want. Trump organization has been in existence since 1923. Trump has been at its helm since 1973. But the pressure to present financial records gained immense steam in 2017, and now that he is no longer the President, an apparently clear witch hunt is underway.
We can be sure of a witch hunt because the Democrats are using institutions to go after Trump’s family members and closest aides.
On February 11th, Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr. was deposed as part of a probe of alleged misuse of contributions for the 2017 inauguration of his father, former President Donald Trump, court records show.
The deposition came two months after the sister of Donald Jr., former White House consultant Ivanka Trump, was deposed in the case herself.
The case was brought forward by Karl A. Racine, Attorney General for the District of Columbia. Columbia is one of the biggest Democrat vote banks and thus it came as no surprise that the law suit was filed by an attorney general of a blue state.
Racine last year sued the Trump Inaugural Committee, the Trump Organization and the Trump International Hotel for what he called “blatantly and unlawfully abusing non-profit funds to enrich the Trump family.” The attorney general said at the time that an investigation by his office “revealed that the Inaugural Committee made exorbitant and unlawful payments to the Trump Hotel to rent event space for Inaugural activities.”
“This came as a result of coordination between Inaugural Committee Deputy Chairman Rick Gates, Trump International Hotel management, and members of the Trump family,” Racine said in announcing the suit, which alleges more than $1 million in improper payments to the hotel by the inaugural committee.
Democrats are trying to malign everyone close to Trump by whichever way possible. Thus, the subpoena of Steve Bannon recently comes as little surprise. Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance recently subpoenaed financial records relating to a fraudulent “build the wall” scam allegedly orchestrated by Bannon.
They were the same charges Trump had pardoned Steve Bannon from in his last days in office. In late January, after Trump pre-emptively pardoned Bannon for any federal crimes he may have committed as part of an alleged $25 million scheme to defraud donors to a crowdfunding effort that vowed to pay for the Mexican border wall of the former president, Vance gave grand jury subpoenas to Wells Fargo and GoFundMe.
This is just another attempt to roadblock Trump from running for President again. Bannon is Trump’s closest aide and will play an important role in Trump’s re-election given that Trump contests the elections, the probability of which is very likely. Bannon will play one of the most important roles because of his capability to counter the left liberal agenda spewed out by the mainstream media. The Democrats aim to neuter this threat.
Donald Trump was not impeached. After the trials, his popularity rating shot up again. High ranking GOP officials understood the power Trump held over the GOP voters. The sway he commanded had not died. Now Trump is mulling to run for President again in 2024, moreover, his presidential nomination from the GOP looks to be a sure shot. Even his hardest critic, Romney has conceded defeat. The Democrats are therefore scared and are scurrying to malign his name those of his aides and even his family.
