With Biden’s disastrous immigration policy and the massive influx of undocumented illegal immigrants, the USA’s border states are hurting. A highway crash in Holtville, a town about 125 miles outside of San Diego, California, involved human smugglers and 25 illegal immigrants as their overloaded Ford Expedition jammed into a single SUV and left over a dozen dead on Tuesday. Another chain-reaction crash near Camp Pendleton in California left a US Navy Seabee dead and five other Seabees injured.
These are only the latest reported incidents. With the disastrous border policy of Joe Biden, things are going to get even messier in the states bordering Mexico. The influx of immigrants in such large numbers and them being undocumented is also taking a toll on the healthcare system of these US states.
In a way, Biden’s border policy of respecting and resettling illegal aliens is jeopardising the lives of the legal US citizens. While his ill-placed and ill-intended policies wrapped in the left’s utopian ideas are killing US citizens, Biden has refused to acknowledge it. It is no coincidence that the influx of illegal immigrants surged as soon as Joe Biden became President. In January, immigration officials made more than 75,000 arrests at the southern border, up 6% from the previous month, according to US Customs and Border Control.
Joe Biden, on the one hand, had introduced the US Citizenship Act of 2021 which proposes a pathway to citizenship to 11 million undocumented workers and on the other hand is weakening the US I.C.E. (Immigration and Customs Enforcement). This is the worst possible combination for the USA and especially for the border states.
Recently Texas Sheriff Louderback appeared on ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’ and told him, “The memo that I received this last week — it’s a defunding-ICE-by-memo — by memorandum, sent out January 20, 2021.” And then the Texas Sheriff explained what it means. He said, “This is a particularly devastating document for Texans and Americans here in the United States.”
Louderback added, “When I read it and looked at it, it’s a message to the world that you can come here illegally, you can commit crimes here against Americans, and remain illegally.”
It is not just the defunding of the people managing the border security day in and day out. It is the larger picture that unregulated and undocumented immigration will unnecessarily increase the burden on public facilities. These public facilities will shift away from serving the people, who are paying for them, towards these new illegal immigrants, which include criminals running away from the Mexican legal system, drug smugglers, cartel members among others.
While the situation has worsened, Biden has remained intentionally oblivious of the situation. President Biden is even declining to call the situation at the southern border a crisis – amid reports that his administration needs another 20,000 beds at migrant facilities to deal with a surge of unaccompanied minors.
When asked during an appearance on Tuesday, if there was a crisis at the border, Biden declined to use the term. “No — we will be able to handle it, God willing,” Biden said. Experts predict that as many as 117,000 unaccompanied minors will cross the border this year.
Reversing Trump era practical measures, Biden has already stopped the funding for the border wall. He has followed the policy of allowing illegal immigrants into the borders and is in the process of abandoning the USA’s border security organs. These steps are something that a sound administrator cannot even think of pursuing.
