Joe Biden has made many bad decisions which will be remembered, but this time he has plunged the nation of Afghanistan into such a situation where the USA’s credibility will depreciate exponentially. The Biden administration is overseeing a ragtag plan to get the US citizens and others out of Kabul while the US has retreated suddenly without any exit strategy and left its allies for the vultures. As the Taliban has won surprisingly fast, the whole world is criticising Joe Biden for an outright retreat with no concern of allies and the very people who fought shoulder to shoulder with US troops.
Those who have openly been Democrats and support Joe Biden through every thick and thin, too were missing Donald Trump as Kabul was being sacked. Former President Donald Trump lashed out at the Biden administration’s handling of Afghanistan, rising inflation and illegal immigrants on Friday, asking: “Do you miss me yet?” With the whole international community decrying Biden’s sudden retreat, giving Afghanistan to the Taliban has also created critics back home, even those who earlier supported Joe Biden.
Trump, in a statement on Sunday, said that it was time for the incumbent US president, Joe Biden, to resign, “for what he has allowed happening in Afghanistan, along with the tremendous surge in Covid-19, the Border catastrophe, the destruction of energy Independence, and our crippled economy.” According to The New York Times, the Afghan government disintegrated on Sunday, with President Ashraf Ghani leaving the nation and the Taliban gaining control of the capital. Terrorists from the Taliban have taken control of Kabul, Afghanistan’s capital, as well as the presidential palace. According to reports, the organisation would soon declare the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan re-established.
Earlier, a piece in WSJ mentioned how Joe Biden has always found himself at the wrong side of history. The piece mentioned that former Defense Secretary Bob Gates famously claimed that during his entire career, President Biden has been on the wrong side of every important foreign-policy issue. Mr. Biden’s rash, ill-advised exit from Afghanistan is turning into a strategic failure and moral disaster.
Even renowned foreign policy voice and an open supporter of the Democrats, Richard N Haass, tweeted, “One can disagree with me & think the Biden administration was right to pull out all US troops from Afghanistan…but it is impossible to argue that it has gone about it in the right way. This looks to be both a major intelligence & policy failure with tragic consequences.”

Western analysts have been generally criticising the American troops pullout without slamming Biden’s shoddy management of the critical process. A miffed Trump reportedly said that the US troops pullout, which Biden plans to complete by August 31 would have been “a much different and much more successful withdrawal” had he still been the President. He added, “Taliban understood that better than anyone.”
In his statement, Trump claimed, “If I were now president, the world would find that our withdrawal from Afghanistan would be a conditions-based withdrawal.” The former US President added, “I personally had discussions with top Taliban leaders whereby they understood what they are doing now would not have been acceptable.”

Whatever may be the case, it is obvious that Trump would have been able to handle it efficiently and everyone is realising this. Thus, be it WSJ, The New York Times, among other liberal publications, even the Biden supporters are missing Trump as Taliban has taken control of Kabul and the USA has had to run away in a shameful manner.
