Jacob David Philip Oram popularly known as his short name Jacob Oram. He is a former New Zealand international cricketer, who played all forms of the game for 10 years. Career

Jacob played his careers first match in the year 1997. On December 12 2002 Oram made his Test debut against India at Wellington and since then till now he has played 33 Tests for New Zealand. On 4 January 2001 he made his one-day international debut in which match was played against Zimbabwe.

On 21 October 2005 he made his debut in T20I against South Africa. 26 August 2009 he played his careers last test match against Sri Lanka. On 6 November 2011 he played his last ODI against Sri Lanka and on 30 October 2012 he played his last T20I against Sri Lanka.

In the year 2001 due to a mistimed foot injury Oram missed an important phase of his cricketing career. With unbeatable 126 runs on not out he scored his second Test century.

He made his third Test century against the match of South Africa, he scored the highest 133 runs of his career.in an ODI against Australia on 28 January 2007 in Perth, Oram scored an unbeaten 101 runs in 72 balls.

Oram announced his retirement from Test cricket on 13 October 2009. In the year 2013 he played for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.In the year 2014, Oram became the bowling coach of New Zealand A, and currently he is mentoring Adam Milne. In the year 2019 he was appointed as the coach of the Manawatu cricket team, which competes in the Hawke Cup.
