Bhadraj Temple only temple of Lord Balarama in Uttarakhand is located in Dehradun, Mussoorie. The Bhadraj temple is situated on the Dudhli Bhadraj hill, just 15 km from Mussoorie. The height of this temple is about 7500 feet above sea level.

Bhadraj Temple is famous for religious faith as well as adventure tourism. This temple is best for trekking. It is a famous trekking area of ​​Doon Valley. According to mythology, this temple is dedicated to Lord Balarama, the elder brother of Lord Krishna. Here Balram ji is worshiped in the form of Bhadraj.

History of this Temple

Lord Bhadraj is considered to be the deity of cattle herders of Pachhwadun, Mussoorie, and Jaunsar region. According to Hindu beliefs, in the Dwapar era, when Lord Balarama, in the guise of a sage, was coming out of this region, at that time a terrible disease of animals was spread in this region. Seeing Rishi Muni coming out of the area, people stopped him and started requesting him to cure the animals.

Then Balram ji cured their animals. People hailed him and requested him to stay here, then Baba stayed with him for some time. And blessed him that in Kalyug I will live here in the name of Bhadraj Devta in the temple. It is said that even today Lord Balabhadra protects his animals.

Best time to visit this Temple

Every year a three-day fair is held at the Bhadraraj temple starting from 15th August to 17th August. So this period is the best time to visit this temple and to see the importance of this Temple.

Kempty Falls

Kempty Falls is surrounded by high mountain ranges and is situated at an altitude of about 1,364 meters above sea level, thus providing a wonderful environment to visit and hear the sound of water falling on the rocky bottom below. Amidst the lush green neighbourhood.

Lal Tibba

Lal Tibba is the highest peak in Mussoorie, with a height of over 2,290 meters above sea level and provides some amazing and never-before-seen views of the mountains that house the holy temples of Kedarnath and Badrinath. A Japanese telescope has been installed on the edge of the cliff to give its visitors a clear view of the picturesque surroundings, the place is highly protected from most commercial activities.

Happy Valley

The centre of the Tibetan settlement in Mussoorie is located just off Happy Valley Mall Road. It is the place where Tibetans first fled to India from Lhasa in 1959 before moving to Dharamshala under the leadership of their spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama. The place is adorned with oak and deodar and has many small hotels and cafeterias.
