Chandi Devi Mandir Haridwar – Guide
Chandi Devi Mandir is located in Haridwar in the state of Uttarakhand. The temple of Chandi Devi is a famous temple of the Hindus. The Chandi Devi Temple is situated atop the Neel Parvat on the eastern peak of the Shivalik Hills, the southernmost mountain range of the Himalayas. This temple is one of the Five Shrines located within Haridwar. The Chandi Devi Mandir is highly revered as one of the Siddha Peetha present in India. It is believed to be a place where wishes come true.
History of Chandi Devi Mandir
Chandi Devi Mandir is believed to have been built in 1929 by Raja Suchat Singh of Kashmir. But along with this people also believe that the idol present in the temple was installed by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. Shankaracharya was one of the greatest priests of Hinduism. The temple is also known as the Shrine of Neel Parvat which is one of the five shrines located within Haridwar.

Chandi Devi Mandir, Haridwar Timings
The Chandi Devi Mandir is administered by the Mahant who is the presiding deity of the temple. This temple opens after 5 in the morning and closes at 8 in the night. After the opening of the temple, the first aarti of Chandi Devi is performed at 5:30 in the morning. After the morning aarti, the work of worship and darshan continues throughout the day.
Best time to visit this place
It is more convenient to visit here from the month of February to October. Since Uttarakhand is a mountainous region. There is not much snowfall in these months and neither the way to the temple is blocked. So you can visit Chandi Devi temple before the onset of winters or after it ends and before the onset of rainy season.

Chilla Wildlife Sanctuary, situated on the eastern bank of the river Ganges, is spread over an area of 249 square kilometers. This wildlife sanctuary was established in 1977 and the sanctuary was merged with Motichur and Rajaji sanctuaries in 1983 to form Rajaji National Park. At a distance of 10 km from Haridwar Chilla Wildlife Sanctuary is located.

Patanjali’s products made from here are sent to every corner of the country. Patanjali Yog Peeth is a must visit after coming to Haridwar.

How to reach Chandi Devi Mandir
By Air- You can come to Dehradun airport as this is the nearest airport and then reach Haridwar by taxi or bus and go to Chandi Devi Mandir.
By Train- By train you can reach Haridwar station and then from there you can go to Chandi Devi temple by using local transport services or taxi.
By Road- Buses runs from Delhi, Dehradun and Rishikesh. You can reach haridwar and from there go to Chandi Devi Mandir by using local transport.
