The US SOUTHCOM commander reveals the evil plans Biden has in store for Latin America

It is no secret that the United States is a powerful hegemon which has aggressively intervened across the world. Through its military might, diplomatic ties and economic sanctions, it has forced states to bend to its will. Until now it had masked its evil intentions in the guise of humanitarian intervention. But Laura Richardson, the head of the U.S. Southern Command has exposed US’ wicked plans.

In an interview, she gave away what US and Joe Biden’s administration had planned for Latin America. It couldn’t get more evident than this.

Mask falls off

Laura Richardson is in charge of military operations in Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. What Laura Richardson spoke in the interview, wouldn’t be expected from a military general. When she was asked why the region is important for US, she started orating like a businessman. Laura Richardson said, “With all its rich resources and rare earth elements, there is the lithium triangle, which today is necessary for technology. Sixty percent of the world’s lithium is found in the lithium triangle: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile.”

Additionally, Laura Richardson highlighted that the largest oil deposits were discovered off Guyana more than a year ago. The general also brought up Venezuela’s abundant gold, copper, and oil reserves. The Amazon was emphasised as the lungs of the world. She noted, “We have 31% of the world’s fresh water in this region.”

Although the U.S. military officer acknowledgement of US real objectives in Latin America is nothing new, Richardson’s candour stands out. She characterises the region’s strategic assets as an issue of “national security” for the US, for which it must “up its game” against rival nations.

It is significant that Laura Richardson refers to the Latin American nations as “we,” highlighting how the US considers them as its own “backyard.” Similar to when Elon Musk made a controversial tweet, which he has since deleted.  The tweet, which discussed the 2019 military takeover in Bolivia, exposed the capitalist objectives driving imperialist aggression.

The obsession of US to intrude into foreign nations is tiresome. The goal of the US-backed coup in Peru is to protect multinational corporations’ profits. The United States has significantly lost its global hegemony. And as other powers have emerged, Richardson’s words also highlight the country’s current goals. The claims also serve as proof of the overall resource exploitation and environmental destruction carried out by the United States in Latin America.

All around the world, US spends heavily in violent repression and coups in order to protect its corporate profits. And especially, in Latin America. Latin America surely has many friends but US is not one of them.
