Bhadra Maruthi Mandir Aurangabad – Guide
Bhadra Maruthi Mandir is located in Khultabad of Aurangabad district in the Maharashtra. This ancient temple is only 4 km from Ellora caves. Is located at a distance. This temple is mainly dedicated to the Hindu deity Shri Hanuman ji.
We all must have often seen various idols of Hanuman ji, must have seen him standing somewhere, somewhere lifting a mountain in his hands, somewhere tearing his chest and somewhere he must have seen Ram absorbed. But seeing Hanuman ji idol in sleeping posture will be a unique experience. This temple is famous because only 3 places in India have the idol of Hanuman ji installed in the lying posture.
History of this Temple
The Bhadra Maruthi Mandir of Aurangabad was earlier also known as ‘Bhadravati’. Because King Bhadrasen of Khultabad was a great devotee of Ram who had established this temple.
Here such a legend is prevalent that once King Bhadrasen was engaged in devotion to Ram and was singing bhajans and listening to those sweet bhajans, Shri Hanuman ji sat near him and got mesmerized while listening to the bhajans and got absorbed in bhava-samadhi.
When the king saw Hanuman ji, he requested him to stay there forever and asked him to give him the boon of devotion to Ram. Since then Shri Hanuman ji is sitting there in the same state of trance. Some people also believe that Hanuman ji rested at this place while bringing Sanjeevani to save Laxman’s life.
