Unai Mata Mandir Navsari – Guide

Unai Mata Mandir is situated in the Unai village in the Navsari district which is located 60 km from Surat in Tapi district of Gujarat. It is a place of pilgrimage. Historically, it dates back to the Ramayana era. The temple is big and beautiful. Here are some facts about Unai Mata Temple and hot spring in Unai village of Gujarat India.

History of this Temple

As the history says, Lord Rama along with Sitaji and brother Lakshmana reached Dandakaranya at the end of fourteen years of exile. Sage Sharbhang welcomed Shri Ram to his ashram. And looked after them very well with great love and affection. The sage was suffering from leprosy and his body was foul smelling, in this painful condition he changed his outer form with the power of yoga. Even in painful condition, he followed Shri Ram on foot to send him away from his area.

Lakshmana came to know of their painful condition and told about it to Sri Rama, Lord Rama took his arrow and pierced the earth. Hot medicinal spring gushed out. Sage Sharbhanga took a bath and was immediately cured. Since then the hot springs have been flowing continuously.

Along with this, faith is also flowing in Unai Mata Mandir Navsari. Pilgrims come from far and wide to visit this place. As mentioned on the notice board of the temple. The discharge of the spring is about 5500 gallons per hour with a temperature of 57 to 61 degree Celsius.

Unai Mata Mandir Navsari opens at 7:00 AM in the morning and close at 8:00 PM in the evening. In this time devotees can easily visit this Temple.

Place to visit near this Temple

Dandi Beach

The beach is a very beautiful place where you can sit on the shore, build sand castles, take a walk on the beach or have some fun in the water. It is named so because of its location near Dandi village.

Jamshed Bagh

Built in the year 1849 with simple and humble architecture of sloping roof and a beautiful courtyard, it is one of the best maintained Parsi Dharamshalas in India.

Desai Atash Bahram

Desai Atash Bahram Considered to be one of the oldest yet very well maintained temples in Gujarat, this place was established in 1765 and is also famous for being the second oldest fire temple in India.

Built in the year 1872 by Seth Burjor Bamanji Padam, the entire internal structure of which is said to have been renovated in the year 1999.

By Air- The nearest airport from this temple is is Surat airport which is situated at a distance of around 90 km. From here you can easily reach this temple by using local transport services or taxi.

By Train- The nearest railway station from Unai Mata Mandir Navsari is Navsari Railway station which is at a distance of 60 km. From here you can easily reach this temple by using local transport services or taxi.

By Road- Roads to Unai Mata Mandir Navsari are well connected by the other cities of the country so you can easily reach this temple by using your own vehicle or by any public buses or taxi from any part of the country.
