US Issues Warning Against Mexico But Forgets to Look in the Mirror

USA travel advisory: Before criticising other countries, the US needs to look in its own backyard.
The US has high rates of violent crime, it is a harsh reality that big cities like Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia and San Francisco are grappling with recurrent homicides, gun violence, robberies, sexual assault, home invasions etc.

Apparently, the authorities in the US are very lenient on crime. As a matter fact, repeat violent offender always manage to secure bail and take advantage of the flawed criminal justice programs created by rogue prosecutors and district attorneys.

This is resulting in many Americans lose their lives in violent crimes. However, the US authorities is indifferent to this menace plaguing its society. They have turned a blind eye to the repeated pleas from American citizens to conduct a stringent crackdown on crime.

But ironically, the USA is concerned about the law and order situation in neighboring Mexico. So much so that USA authorities in Texas have advised the American citizens to not travel to Mexico due to security reasons. The bogus advisory comes in the wake of the tragedy which struck four Americans who visited Mexico last week.

However, it is ironical that thousands of Americans become victims of crime in the US daily, yet the USA government doesn’t issue travel advisory, in fact it doesn’t even give an assurance that it will take necessary action to curb the menace.

And yet for just one isolated incident in Mexico, the USA authorities decided to issue a travel advisory. Yes, Mexico has drug trafficking and gang warfare problems but so does the US. In fact, in cities like Chicago, gangs employ minors for selling narcotics, while in Los Angeles meth addicts engage in criminal encroachment.

Therefore, if the US authorities really want to protect their citizens from crime, then they need to focus on their own backyard rather making unfounded facts and statements on Mexico. Contrary to the USA claims, Mexico is taking an active role in eradicating drug cartels and gangs.

Now, Washington is not concerned about the crime problem in Mexico, its real purpose behind releasing this threat alert is to defame Mexico which has a fearless anti-USA president. Anytime, a courageous leader comes to power in a sovereign nation, the US perceives him/her as a threat to its hegemony and employs malicious measures to hound them. This is exactly what the US is doing here with Mexico.
