Titwala Siddhivinayak Mandir – Guide

Siddhivinayak Mandir is one of the ancient Hindu temples located in Titwala, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The Siddhivinayak Temple boasts of magnificent architectural style from the period of Mahabharata. This temple is popularly known as “Titwala Ganesh” and is filled with devotees on Tuesdays and Chaturthi.

History of this Temple

Shakuntala built Titwala Siddhivinayak Mandir during the period of Mahabharata, we can find samples of ancient architecture. Once King Dushyant was passing through the forest for his war campaign, he fell in love with Shakuntala. Both were married according to Gandharva rituals. Due to unrest in his kingdom Gandhara, Dushyanta had to leave.

Before leaving he gave a ring which is believed to be the royal seal and promised to return. When Shakuntala was dreaming about her husband she forgot to pay attention to sage Durvasa, in turn the sage cursed her that her husband would forget her and would not return.

After accepting his apology she reduced her curse and said that Dushyant would recognize her after showing her the symbol of love. Meanwhile, sage Kanva, Shakuntala’s father, established the idol of Siddhi Vinayaka and told him to build a temple and worship it with devotion. God bless you and join her husband.

Titwala Siddhivinayak Mandir Timings

Titwala Siddhivinayak Mandir opens at 5:00 AM in the morning and close at 9:00 PM in the evening. Panchamrit abhisek is performed at 5:15 AM in the morning and then morning aarti is performed at 5:45 AM in the morning. Evening aarti is performed at 8:30 PM in the evening.

Malshej Ghat

Malshej Ghat, situated at a short distance from Pune city, is the best picnic spot amidst rain showers from the sky in monsoon. Haji Malanggarh

Haji Malanggarh is a fort in Thane district, about 15 km from Kalyan. This is a holy place known as Malang or Haji Malang. Shilahar Raja had got the Malanggarh fort built. There is an ancient temple of Machhindranath in this fort.

Ambernath Shiva Temple

Chitrarajayani got this temple built around 1060. This temple is the oldest and most historical temple of the city. Legend has it that it was built by the Pandavas from a single stone.

Vajreshwari temple

The temple of Goddess Vajreshwari is near the historical cities of Vasai and Sopara in the Palghar district of Maharashtra. The temple is in Vadavali village, also known as Vajreshwari after the presiding deity, where the temple is situated on the banks of the Tanasa river. This temple is dedicated to Yogini Vajreshwari Devi.

By Train- The nearest railway station from Siddhivinayak Mandir is Titwala railway station which is at a distance of about few kms from this temple. From here you can easily reach this temple by using local transport services or taxi.

By Road- Roads to this temple are well connected with the other cities of the country so you can easily reach this temple by using your own vehicle or by any public buses or taxi from any part of the country.
