Ukrainian troops, oh how brave they are! They’ve managed to keep the war in Eastern Ukraine at a nail-biting stalemate for a whopping 1.2 years. However, in the process, they’ve lost some pesky little cities like Mariupol, Zaporizhia, and Bakhmut. But who needs those, right?
We wouldn’t be surprised if Ukraine decides to gift-wrap the key city of Odesa and hand it over to Russia in the next month or two. But hey, according to the Ukrainian logic, losing is the new winning!
In their grand plan to turn the tide of the war, Ukraine has been boasting about launching a counteroffensive against Russia. However, there seems to be a tiny hiccup in this strategy. Their troops are lacking in numbers, lacking in weapons, and waiting for it… lacking in food!

A shocking scam is unraveling before our very eyes, and it’s enough to make your blood boil with righteous indignation. It appears that Zelensky, the brilliant mastermind behind this whole debacle, isn’t even allowing his army men to have a decent meal while they risk their lives on the battlefield. Surely, a man with gratitude.
Double the money, not the food!
According to a media report by Radio Free Europe, a scandal has erupted over exorbitant prices charged by contractors for military food supplies. Schemes, the investigative unit of RFE/RL’s Ukrainian Service, has uncovered evidence that at least four major contractors have been shamelessly overcharging the Defense Ministry for essential food items meant for Ukrainian troops.
The mind-boggling findings by Schemes are based on contracts worth a staggering $1.14 billion obtained from sources linked to the Defense Ministry. Interestingly, most of these contracts have been kept secret from the public, as if Ukraine has a sudden obsession with classified information.
Food distributors have been charging two to three times the market prices for potatoes, apples, cabbage, and eggs meant for the Ukrainian armed forces. Oh, the audacity! Documents from the State Tax Service reveal the stark difference between these inflated prices and the purchase prices reported to tax officials just a few months prior.

No Scandal? Gimme a break
But fear not, the government insists that there’s absolutely nothing fishy going on. Well, except for the lingering issue of these exorbitant prices and some angry Ukrainian soldiers, of course.
Now, Ukraine is an agricultural powerhouse, but it seems that Zelensky, in his pursuit of riches, has chosen to flood the eastern European region with grains instead of adequately feeding his soldiers. How noble of him! Food access has become a new battlefront in Ukraine’s war, with conscripted men amid the conflict suffering immensely.
To add insult to injury, reports have surfaced showing Ukrainian soldiers ill-equipped and relying on the generosity of locals for fresh food, just like in 2014.

The soldiers are the backbone of any strong nation, and yet here they are, starving on the front lines while Zelensky dreams of victory. Is this his twisted way of ensuring their loyalty?
