Sarah Jama NDP: The mention of Jagmeet Singh and the NDP party inevitably invokes thoughts of Khalistan, the radical wing associated with them. Singh, hailing from a Punjabi Sikh background, has been vocal in advocating for Sikh rights and supporting causes like Sikh independence.
His strong stance on Khalistan secession has led to India imposing restrictions on his entry into the country. Remarkably, the NDP-governed province of British Columbia has come under scrutiny due to escalating crimes, with drugs and homicides becoming disturbingly common occurrences. Despite NDP’s reputation for garnering support from radical factions, including Khalistanis and Islamists, Jagmeet Singh has taken a contrary approach on the Israel-Gaza war, contradicting expectations.
Jagmeet Singh, known for his associations with radical activities, surprisingly endorsed Israel in a notable statement. Amidst the initial days of Israel-Gaza conflict, Singh expressed deep sorrow about the heartbreaking violence between Gaza and Israel. In his official statement, Singh emphasized the need for compassion and recognizing our shared humanity during such dark times.
He called for Canada to advocate for a ceasefire, the release of hostages, and the establishment of a humanitarian aid corridor to preserve lives. This statement came amidst a hostage situation involving Hamas terrorists and Israelis within Israel.
Jagmeet Singh’s tweet also expressed leniency towards Israel. This marked a departure from his usual stance. Similarly, the NDP, on its official website, echoed concerns about the hostages and exhibited a pro-Israel stance. This sudden shift in NDP’s position towards Israel left many astonished.
Sarah Jama Speaks: NDP supports Gaza
NDP’s sudden shift was pretty shocking for everyone. But it took just hours for the mask to come off. The NDP’s MPP for Hamilton Centre, Sarah Jama, faced severe criticism after her statement on the Israel-Hamas conflict in the Middle East.
In her official statement, Jama condemned “the generations long occupation of Palestine,” denouncing what she referred to as apartheid and human rights violations in Gaza. She expressed solidarity with the people of Gaza, asserting that violence and retaliation stemming from settler colonialism had claimed the lives of numerous innocent individuals for 75 years. Jama’s comments, posted on a platform formerly known as Twitter, drew swift backlash.
Ontario NDP leader Marit Stiles immediately distanced the party from Jama’s statement, emphasizing that her remarks “do not reflect our Party’s position” and were not approved by the Caucus. Stiles urged Jama to retract the statement, clarifying her stance against violence on both Israeli and Palestinian fronts, aligning with the federal NDP’s position. She apologized. But, her comments remain active on Twitter.

NDP’s Trouble: Jama Exposes the Real Side
In response, Ontario’s Conservative premier, Doug Ford, and the interim leader of the Ontario Liberals, John Fraser, called for Jama’s expulsion from the Ontario NDP Caucus. Premier Ford went further, demanding Jama’s resignation, accusing her of publicly endorsing the violation and murder of Israeli civilians. Ford’s allegations were vehemently denied as a shocking and false claim.
This incident revealed a divide within the NDP, highlighting the challenges faced by the party in reconciling differing perspectives on international conflicts. Sarah Jama’s stance, while drawing support from some quarters, ignited controversy within the party, prompting leaders to swiftly distance themselves from her views. But, this stance has suprisingly not drawn any criticism from party’s leader Jagmeet himself.
And of course, how can Jagmeet say anything. Under his leadership, NDP has been known for harboring such views. Sarah Jama of the NDP has frequently labeled Israel as an “apartheid state” despite the presence of Palestinians in key roles within Israel’s institutions, raising doubts about her claims.
She has also accused Israel of being “illegitimate” and funding global killings, although providing no evidence to support these allegations. Moreover, Jama has made unsubstantiated statements about police officers supporting Naziism and arbitrarily killing babies.

Despite her assertions, no proof has been presented. These controversial remarks have sparked debates, showcasing a recurring pattern within the NDP.
Jama’s support for Hamas reveals the NDP’s alignment, causing concern. In a time when Western powers should stand in solidarity with Israel, differing opinions create division. Jama’s stance exposes Jagmeet Singh’s position, highlighting internal NDP conflicts.
