Ukrainian President, Vladimir Zelensky, in a recent interview with German media, discussed the Ukrainian Army’s status. Ukraine has claimed to have a substantial army and eradicated corruption in the country. Reports have surfaced about coercive methods, such as forcibly conscripting individuals, including an incident in Odessa where people were taken off buses and compelled to join the army. Mainstream media has only recently acknowledged such practices, which were reported earlier.
Now, here comes a shocking and hard-to-believe revelation from Zelensky- The Ukrainian army currently has a force level numbering about 880,000 troops, said delusional Zelensky in the aforementioned interview with Germany’s ARD broadcaster.
“We have 880,000 troops; that’s an army of almost a million,” he said, when asked about the army’s force strength. “Besides, we currently have a workforce of 30 million people, even though I can’t provide the exact number. Some 6.5 million to 7.5 million people have moved abroad, and again, I can’t give the accurate figure,” Zelensky added.

Questions arise about the sudden increase, especially considering the average age of Ukrainian soldiers is reported to be 43. Earlier, the Ukrainian president said that the Ukrainian ground forces were 600,000 strong in December 2023. In February 2022, the Ukrainian armed forces numbered about 260,000, including 250,000 ground troops.
The apparent increase in the Ukrainian army’s size, reaching almost triple that of Russia, raises questions about the methods employed for this surge. There is speculation about the methods used, considering historical practices like the Mongolian use of dummies for psychological operations. It is a possibility that Ukraine might be employing straw dummies as a deceptive tactic to mislead Russia.
Concerns were raised about the potential conscription of the entire working-age population into the army, as mentioned by Ukrainian Army Lieutenant Colonel Nicolov. He advocated for the inclusion of the entire male and female population above the age of 18, even considering the enlistment of prisoners. He stressed that this extensive mobilization is deemed the sole strategy to avert defeat in Ukraine’s ongoing ten-year-long conflict with Russia.
Moreover, recent orders for over 50,000 new uniforms for women, accompanied by propaganda showcasing their role in the conflict, suggest a shift in the demographics of Ukraine’s military. With claims circulating that all the men have perished, the narrative takes a surreal turn as pregnant women receive conscription letters. The social media posts of expectant mothers being called for duty add another layer of complexity, raising doubts about the sensitivity of the conscription process.

In an interview with German national broadcaster ARD, Zelensky issued a cautionary statement on Sunday, expressing apprehension regarding the potential reduction in aid from the United States to Kyiv.
Facing this challenge, Zelensky urged Germany to leverage its substantial economic influence. The aim is to encourage European Union (EU) partners to augment their contributions to Kyiv’s efforts in countering Russia.
According to Reuters, Zelensky has articulated the severity of the situation by stating that a potential Russian strike on a NATO country could mark the ominous commencement of the Third World War.
“It seems to me that the Chancellor (Olaf Scholz) is aware of this risk,” he said.

Challenges have emerged in the United States due to the prevailing political dynamics, particularly the opposition from Republicans, which hinders the continuous provision of aid to Ukraine.
“Passivity from the United States or the lack of support would be a bad signal,” he said, adding that it is not right for anyone, and that “Germany can manage to consolidate the EU. Many countries have important economic relationships with Germany, and their economy is dependent on Germany’s decisions because Germany has a strong economy,” Zelensky stated.
The International Monetary Fund, earlier, warned Ukraine to stop its corruption or they would stop money as there have been reports of corruption within the Ukrainian military even before the Russia-Ukraine war.
And now, there have been internal investigations revealing millions of dollars misappropriated through fraudulent weapon sales. Ukraine recently exposed a defense embezzlement scheme amounting to $40 million.

The fraudulent plan involved collaboration between Ukraine’s defense officials and corporate leaders to misappropriate funds through deceptive arms procurement practices.This revelation was disclosed by the country’s primary intelligence and security agency on Saturday, January 27. Subsequently, Ukraine’s defense ministry verified the corruption allegations and took action by issuing notices of suspicion to the implicated officials.
Ukraine’s SBU security service has disclosed that both current and former high-ranking officials from the defense ministry, along with leaders of affiliated companies, sought to embezzle nearly UAH 1.5 billion (equivalent to $40 million) from the budget. The alleged embezzlement involved the purported acquisition of 100,000 mortar rounds for the Armed Forces.
Meanwhile, NATO countries have expressed heightened concerns about preparing for a military draft in anticipation of a potential war with Russia. This sentiment appears to stem from the perception that Ukraine is not achieving success in its current situation and initial expectations of Ukraine reclaiming lost territory not being materialized.
The UK military and Sweden have issued warnings about the need for a civilian army, and Australian media, notably Sky News Australia, has also intensified discussions on the matter. Defense contractors are stressing on the urgency for non-NATO countries to prepare for a conflict with Russia.
