The Trump effect is already visible! Dialogue is officially winning over conflicts and wars. It’s clear: When Trump said his administration will always stand for peace, he was not making castles in the air.
Let’s start with the biggest trouble maker in Middle East: Hamas. This Iran-backed proxy has now openly declared it wants peace with Israel and is asking for Trump’s help.
Hamas political bureau member Bassem Naim told news agency AFP, “Hamas is ready to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip if a ceasefire proposal is presented and on the condition that it is respected.”
Naim added, “We call on the US administration and Trump to pressure the Israeli government to end the aggression.” That’s what you call a sudden change of tune. That’s what you call Trump’s effect. The same Hamas that was vowing to raze Tel Aviv to ground is now asking for a truce.
The same is the case with Iran, the puppet master. The Shi’ite nation’s envoy in the UN recently met with biggest Trump ally Elon Musk in the US. You can only imagine why Iran agreed to meet with the incoming Trump administration. Trump is expected to give Israel a free hand vis-à-vis dealing with Iran and its proxies.
In fact, Trump also backed the idea of launching strikes on Iran’s nuclear and oil sites in last month. Trump had also mocked Joe Biden for not allowing Israel to hit nuclear sites. Trump said, “They asked Biden, what do you think about Iran? Would you hit Iran? And he goes, ‘As long as they don’t hit the nuclear stuff’. That’s the thing you want to hit, right?”
For Iran, the threat is real. Like Biden, Trump doesn’t believe in the strategy of having a no strategy. And that’s exactly what Musk might have told the Iranian envoy.
Let’s talk about Russia-Ukraine war now! Both EU and Ukraine have also begun coming to their senses. EU’s biggest economy Germany is the first one to blink. On Friday, Chancellor Olaf Scholz dialed Putin and called on Moscow to engage in talks with Ukraine.
Scholz told Putin please work with Ukraine to “achieve a just and lasting peace”.
The bellicose Zelensky too is a changed man now. He hoped last week that Trump’s election could expedite the end of the war.
Zelensky said, “Certainly, with the policies of this team that will now lead the White House, the war will end sooner.” WOW!
Zelensky is praising the Trump team now, after calling the incoming vice president JD Vance “too radical” before the elections.
The comedian said he was now eager for peace talks. He said, “We will do everything that depends on us (to ensure a meeting).”
The belligerent EU is also rooting for peace now. Look at this: EU now wants Trump to push for peace and end the costly war as soon as possible.
The EU knows if Trump fails to end the war and refuses to fund the war at the same time, European economies will have to make up for any gap in American aid. EU doesn’t have pockets as deep as the US. EU economies are falling apart, be it France or Germany. They can’t even sustain themselves, let alone a raging war with Russia.
The Nov 5 was truly historic! It was not only Trump that emerged victorious that day. It was also the day when peace, diplomacy and dialogue won over conflict, war and hatred.
