Rumours on social media are rife claiming that the supposed perfect couple of Barack and Michelle Obama are heading for a divorce. The rumours took specific credence when commentator and author Meghan McCain shared the news on a podcast show claiming they are from credible sources and not just random gossip makers. Meghan McCain is the daughter of former senator John McCain and hence the story has caught considerable traction.
Michelle and Barack were last seen together in early mid-December, and have been spotted separately on many other major occasions hence. On Jimmy Carter’s funeral and Donald Trump’s Presidential inauguration, Barack Obama appeared on his lonesome. This grabbed the eyes of a number of reporters as during Obama’s terms as President the two appeared as the perfect couple, gracing almost every formal occasion together. Michelle’s team had informed that she has been vacationing away in Hawaii and hence was unable to attend the formal events, however this has done little to assuage the churning rumour mill.
The couple have a long history and had met while working at a law firm in 1989. Their relationship took the turn of a marriage in 1992. The couple have two daughters together, Malia and Sasha. The Obama’s supposed perfect marriage has been compared a number of times to Trump’s relationships. Left leaning writers had portrayed Barack Obama as a perfect family man, while they point out that Donald Trump has a rocky relationship with Melania Trump. However now it seems that Obama’s picture perfect family is far from so.
Barack is now also being linked to Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston. The FRIENDS star already has two failed marriages behind her, with Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux. Aniston has however denied any links with the former President laughing off the tabloid stories in a talk show in October.
This is not the first anomaly in Obama’s career, Barack Obama is a Nobel Peace Prize winner even though during his Presidency Obama dropped thousands upon thousands of bombs (drone or otherwise) across multiple countries: Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, Somalia and Pakistan. On the other hand Trump has so far in his two terms sought to end wars, withdrawing from Afghanistan, working for peace in the middle east, generating good terms with Kim Jong Un and now in his second term attempting to solve the Ukraine-Russia crisis.
Barack Obama has been the pin up model for the Democrat supporters, while Joe Biden has suffered through a fair share of criticism with his bizarre antics. Obama is presented as the complete antithesis of the unpredictable Donald Trump, but now the perfect image of Barack Obama is sure to suffer as according to reports not only is his marriage in trouble he is apparently also losing his family for a relationship with Hollywood film celebrity. Journalist and popular talk show host Megyn Kelly said that if proven true the divorce news “I do not know whether this is true, but if it is, it truly would be a political earthquake in democrat circles, never mind America.” “I don’t remember a presidential divorce in modern history.” If these purported reports are to become reality it will surely do tremendous damage to the Democrat brand.
