A foreign citizen living in Russia was caught before he could set off a bomb at a military-related building. Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) shared this news on Friday. The FSB said the man was working for Ukraine and was stopped in Novorossiysk, a city with a big Russian Navy base.

The suspect is a Belarusian man in his mid-20s. He told Russian investigators that he was working for Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) to earn money. The FSB said he started working as a spy in December 2024. At first, he watched Russian troops and Navy ships for Ukraine. Later, he began planning terror attacks.

The FSB also shared video proof. In the video, the man showed officers where he had hidden bomb parts. The cache had around 2.5 kilograms of plastic explosives, a military fuse, and a radio doorbell. The doorbell was meant to trigger the bomb remotely. The man admitted that his target was an office building used by Russian soldiers.

The FSB often catches people planning attacks for Ukraine. Earlier this month, they stopped a Russian soldier who was on his way to pick up bomb parts from a hidden spot. Reports said the bomb was meant for a dorm where military cadets were living.

Last month, the FSB said they stopped another Ukrainian plot. This time, the plan was to send letter bombs. The explosives were hidden in boxes that looked like perfume gifts. The idea was to make the bombs explode when the packages were opened. Russian postal workers in the Yekaterinburg region found the dangerous parcels. This helped the police arrest another suspect.

The FSB claims these are part of Ukraine’s efforts to attack Russian military targets. Ukraine is performing poorly on the battlefield due to the absence of US military aid. It looks like Zelensky started guerilla warfare when the country failed to relate to the battlefield.
