There was long speculation that the Biden administration had given up on an independent US enquiry on the origin of the COVID-19 virus and the lab leak theory. However, with the latest remarks from the White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, it has become official that the Biden administration has suspended the investigation and is totally dependent on the WHO, which in all its activities is a puppet in the hands of the Chinese Communist Party. President Joe Biden’s team shut down a closely-held State Department effort to prove that coronavirus originated in a Chinese lab with the lame excuse of concerns about the quality of its work as if the invitation by the WHO held any credence.

When Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked Jen Psaki why President Biden wasn’t pressing for more information on the Wuhan lab leak theory, she replied, “We have repeatedly called for the WHO to support an expert-driven evaluation of the pandemic’s origins.” The existence of the State Department investigation and its termination by the Biden administration this spring, both of which were previously unknown, comes to light amid increasing curiosity in whether the virus could have gotten out of a Wuhan lab with military ties. The Biden administration is now being questioned about its own efforts to ascertain if the virus originated in China.

Earlier, after having criticised former President Donald Trump for the entirety of the pandemic for accusing China for the virus, it seems the Wall Street Journal has also jumped onto the Trump train. The Wall Street Journal, one of Trump’s most ardent critics, has now started parroting Trump’s stand on the origin of coronavirus. The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) confirmed that three researchers from China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) were admitted to a hospital a month before Beijing reported the first cases of Covid-19, citing US intelligence. The WSJ report was published on the eve of a meeting of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) decision-making body, which is expected to discuss the next steps in the investigation into the source of the Covid-19 virus.

According to a State Department spokesperson, the decision to end the investigation, which was mostly operated out of the State Department’s arms control and verification office, was decided after Biden officials were briefed on the team’s draught conclusions in February and March of this year. According to a source acquainted with the decision, questions were raised regarding the validity of the findings, and the initiative was assessed to be an inefficient use of resources.

However, many of the Trump Era officials disputed the claim and speaking to CNN said that it was their impression that there was more work to be done. Several researchers at China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology fell ill in November 2019 and had to be hospitalised, according to a US intelligence assessment just cited by CNN and the Wall Street Journal, a fresh detail that has fanned the ongoing debate about the origins of the virus.

The study, according to the newspaper “could add weight to calls for a wider investigation into whether the Covid-19 virus may have escaped from the laboratory,” as it offers new information on the number of researchers infected, the timing of their illnesses, and their hospital visits.” “We’re not going to make pronouncements that prejudge an ongoing WHO study into the source of SARS-CoV-2, but we’ve been clear that sound and technically credible theories should be thoroughly evaluated by international experts,” National Security Council spokeswoman said. Even in the face of all this mounting evidence, the Biden administration is still not willing to go ahead with the investigation.
