The Biden administration has brought back the era of overseas wars and it is obvious given the proximity of the establishment politicians with the weapons industrial complex. While he is intending to descend the world into chaos, countries like India know that these regime change wars are a no-go. India knows that for peace to be established and for human rights issues to be discussed, the existence of a legitimate government is a prerequisite. India has always supported African solutions to Africa problems.
Staying true to its beliefs, India voted against a U.N. Human Rights Council resolution establishing an international commission of experts on Ethiopia to investigate allegations of human rights violations and abuses by all parties to the conflict. The African continent, along with India and other countries, voted on Friday to reject an order to establish an international probe into Ethiopia’s crisis, revealing the continent’s deep divisions over the year-long conflict.

India backs Ethiopia in the U.N. Human Rights Council
Members of the UN Human Rights Council’s 47-member body approved the European Union’s proposal for a team of specialists to examine atrocities in Ethiopia at a special session in Geneva, much to Addis Ababa’s chagrin. Twenty-one of the 47 members backed the call, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, and South Korea, but the whole African delegation of 13 members voted against it or abstained.
India and Russia voted against the resolution, supporting Ethiopia‘s claim that a prior probe had called for accountability, which the Ethiopian government was committed to carrying out. Many of those who voted no have had run-ins with the United Nations Human Rights Commission over alleged influence. Russia, for example, has previously dismissed charges of human rights violations.
India’s approach to worldwide promotion and protection of human rights is based on “our own experience as a pluralistic and inclusive society and dynamic democracy,” Indian External Affairs Secretary Reenat Sandhu stated. She added, “We believe that promotion and protection of human rights are best pursued through dialogue, consultation and cooperation among states and through the provision of technical assistance and capacity building.”
Biden administration received backlash from within
When it comes to its intentions to spread a brutal conflict throughout the Horn of Africa, the Biden administration is confronting internal opposition. The reality in the region differs dramatically from what Joe Biden believes. Any increase in violence in Ethiopia might quickly spread to neighbouring nations such as Eritrea, Sudan, and Somalia, disrupting global trade through the Bab al-Mandab Strait. The United States can control the Bab al-Mandab Strait, which connects the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden, and through which much of the world’s trade goes, by dominating the Horn of Africa.

The United States can only control this strait if it also controls the Horn of Africa, which it is trying to do by forcing Ethiopia into a civil war. Within the administration, though, individuals are starting to recognise the disastrous implications of Biden’s bloodlust.
The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) has praised Ethiopia’s efforts to engage in a joint inquiry into suspected human rights breaches related to the Tigray conflict. It should be remembered that the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) undertook an independent joint investigation into suspected human rights violations in Ethiopia’s northern region.
However, the UN Human Rights Council, held a special session today in response to an official request from the European Union. During the meeting, member states of the Council praised the Ethiopian government’s efforts to implement JIT’s recommendations. While the western countries stuck together with the US, India sent a strong message to Joe Biden that New Delhi will not support destabilising Ethiopia in particular and Africa in general.
By the latest actions, India has signalled its support for the larger narrative in Africa for an Africa led and Africa owned solution to African problems.
