Niezalezna.pl is a top Polish News portal established in 2008. It is said to be a conservative, a term that refers to one of many political philosophies or doctrines, as well as to a political option represented by many contemporary parties, news portal of poland. As the media house claims they are an independent portal with freedom of speech. The chief editor of the Niezalezna.pl news portal is Watergate Award winner Grzegorz Wierzchołowski and the deputy chief editor is Dorota Kania.

Niezalezna.pl was ranked third in August 2011 and fifth in September 2012 by the Institute of Media Monitoring in the category of “the most opinion-forming Internet portals” in Poland.
The Niezalezna.pl portal did not rank in the top ten in the list for the full year of 2012. It was ranked tenth in 2013. It was not categorized in 2014. Apart from the top ten in the area of “the most opinion-forming internet portals” in 2015 and 2016, The portal was ranked fourth in the category of most opinion-forming online portals in Poland in December 2017.

The Chief Editor of Niezalezna.pl
Grzegorz Wierzchołowski has been the editor in chief of the portal since 2009. He earned his bachelor’s degree in cinema studies from Jagiellonian University. He writes for the Polish newspapers “Gazeta Polska” and “Gazeta Polska Codziennie,” as well as the monthly “New Country.” Co-author of “Smolensk: The Scenes of the Catastrophe,” a special edition of the book “New State” on the Smolensk disaster. He had previously published articles in the weekly magazine ” Wysza Czas!”

In 2012, he won the Association of Polish Journalists’ Watergate Award for investigative journalism (together with Leszek Misiak). Co-author of “They Must Have Died,” a book about the Smolensk disaster.
