Trudeau dispatches new gas turbines to Russia to ensure Ukraine’s complete demolition

Since Ukraine’s war with Russia began, the Canadian federal government has maintained unwavering support for the country. Well, it is indeed a well-known fact that Canadian foreign policy under the liberal government headed by PM Justin Trudeau is heavily influenced by the United States.

It would not be wrong to assume that it is Washington that, in reality, directs Ottawa’s foreign policy. Trudeau has reportedly cut down on its support for Kyiv in accordance with the orders that came from the south.

Canada takes a U-Turn

It appears that new orders have been issued, and Trudeau is now ensuring that Russian energy shipments are not jeopardised due to technical challenges.

Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly says that the country still plans to return five turbines used in a Russian natural gas pipeline. This is despite the fact that the company operating the pipeline refused to accept one turbine that has been returned to Germany already.

Six turbines will undergo maintenance in Montreal before being shipped back to Germany thanks to a July exemption from import regulations from the Canadian government.

The Russian state-owned company Gazprom, which runs the Nord Stream 1 pipeline that transports natural gas to Germany and other European nations, would subsequently receive the turbines.

Ukraine Furious with Trudeau

Ukraine, understandably, has been very vocal against the Canadian government’s decision to exempt sanctions from Turbine.

In an interview with the national news agency, the Canadian Press, the Ukrainian ambassador to Canada, Yulia Kovalev, accused Russia of wielding the turbine as a club to intimidate Europe, reiterating her country’s position that the return is axed.

The federal government has justified the action as significant to ensuring energy security in Germany.

However, why did the Trudeau government not think about Germany and Europe when the problem initially started? Why did his administration not make efforts to return the turbine when Germany was begging for it to be returned in the initial days?

Well, that was all because the orders from Washington were quite different at the time. Biden was trying to source energy from rival nations like Venezuela, Iran and Saudi Arabia.

As soon as all of Biden’s attempts to get energy for his allies were exhausted, he was forced to comply by providing all Russia needed to maintain supply.

But one thing is sure, here it is Canada that emerges out as a hypocrite amid all the created mess.

Scholz was in Canada this week to meet with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and sign a “joint declaration of intent” that calls on the two countries to invest in hydrogen, establish a “transatlantic Canada-Germany supply corridor” and start exporting hydrogen by 2025.

It was indeed a perfect time for Trudeau to convince Scholz to let go of the waiver and block the turbines, but he did not and everyone knows why.

“There is no purpose in maintaining the permit. It is disappointing to our community that Canada missed the opportunity to cancel the permit during the chancellor’s visit,” Orest Zakydalsky of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress said in a media statement.

Well, it is understandable that Germany would not have accepted the waiver as it is very badly affected due to the disrupted supply of gas from Russia. Industries are shutting down due to a lack of power, and the idea of an upcoming winter without the availability of gas to keep the houses warm is already worrying Scholz.

The turbines would now be shipped and Trudeau would now be blamed for indirectly financing the Russians against Ukraine. So, liberal Trudeau, under the influence of Washington, has once again humiliated the Canadians.
